Hi,
Couldnt find anywhere else this should be posted so hopefully its ok here!
I went to the doctors about 2 and half weeks ago saying that since my surgery (3rd Lap) in May i have been having darker pains (embarrasing part) especially when need a number 2! i havent heard anything from the doctor or the hospital (as i she was going to refer me back to the hospital) since how long does it usually take?? i feel like im being selfish and shouldnt be moaning about any of this or thinking about my pain right now as ive had a death in the family but im in agony and its all of a sudden aswel im scared to eat things for fear that i will be out and about when the pain comes and wont have a loo to run too. :-( Im 23 for gods sake!!! but then this is really just a drop in the ocean compared to what is going on right now. :-((
Thanks girls, really dont wana just vent on here really appreciate this site!

Aw I'm really sorry to hear about the death in the family! I know things are hard right now and you don't want to put up a fuss, but I don't think you should feel selfish for being in pain. It's not like you asked to be in pain. I hope you can get to the doctor soon! Have you tried any over-the-counter medications to help with the diarrhea?

Hi Kirsty,
So sorry you've had a death in the family and you're in so much pain. This probably won't help, but in my experience I've found that after your GP refers you it takes about a month before you get the letter with your appointment date (or a 'Choose and Book' letter depending on where in the UK you are) and your appointment will be roughly 6 weeks from the date you get your letter. But it depends on where you live and what the referral is for. I've been referred for dermatological stuff and saw my consultant within a month of being referred, but with endo stuff I've always had a 2 or 3 month wait for my appointments. Can you remember how long the wait was with your previous referrals? I know how awful it is waiting when you're in pain; it might be worth ringing your GP up to see if they can speed things along. Fingers crossed your appointment comes through quickly for you. xx

Hi Kirsty--I can't give you much input on the British system, but just wanted to say I'm sorry for all of the pain and the stresses in your life right now. It sounds like such a lot to deal with. Maybe while you're waiting, you can try some of the natural remedies folks have tried on this board to help with the pain? I hope something helps you feel better soon.

Thanks for all the comments girls, no Jenaya just feel like i shouldnt be moaning as im still here! I have been on Lactulose because of suspected IBS in the past but it dosent seem to help much its weird because if the pain passes before i get to the loo the feeling on needing to go passes too? I just dont know how to explain it and it only seems to be since my surgery! I still have some diclafenac left over from my operation that i have been taking but not really making a vast difference problem is i cant take normal things like codine or co-codamol as im allergic and have asmatha so cant take the other things like neurofen and ibroprofen! god i sound like such a winge!! Hay Hannahjex hopefully a letter will come through soon then! im in Worcestershire and this is the first referral i will have had since i was diagnosed with Endo in May the times i have had problems and cycsts before that i have just gone to A & E and they have kept me in and done an operation so this is all new for me thanks Rustmyrtle i havent actually had a look at the natural remedies i will have to give them a go between now and my appointment coming through anything that you can recommend that you have tried? Thanks again girls, i havent been on here long but feel so much better i have people i can just write to for reassurance / advice :-) I hope you are all feeling as well as can be :-) Kirsty x :-)

It's not complaining to say you're allergic to things! We completely understand. I think I'm allergic to half the world--it seems to be part and parcel with the endo: a general immune system issue.
I've been trying a bunch of things recently, and have gotten a lot of relief from teh IBS symptoms by cutting out wheat/gluten entirely. I didn't realize what poison it was to my system. Other ladies on here follow the whole endo diet much more religiously--I'm pretty close, but still haven't completely let go of my coffee or cheese. I'm on the bandwagon of a couple of things right now, but rather than pushing them I'll just suggest going to the natural treatments section and seeing what you want to try.
Hope you get some relief soon.

Jeez Kirsty!!! Well first of all HI, I don't think we really know each other yet! And second... GIRL! You really need a doctor! I think that if you can get in before the 7th to see a doctor for your heavy flow, you should definitely make an effort to do so. A 23 day period -- which seems to NOT actually have stopped -- is most certainly something out of the ordinary that should be checked out! I'm happy to hear that you have an appointment on the 7th though! yay!
