I was just on a fabulous blog site (endowriter.blogspot.com) and she had a section labeled "My worst/I've learnt." I thought it would be a great thread....put a one-liner on the worst thing you've dealt with having endo, and the one major thing you've learned having the disease.
My worst: Thinking and being told I'd never bear children I've learnt: Don't always trust your doctor - educate yourself!!!

omg! I was there last night!!! How funny. My worst: Clueless doctors who lack compassion and make you feel stupid... I've learnt: Advocate for yourself. And shame on them for passing judgment!

My worst: 'What the hell's wrong with me and why won't my doctor help' I've learnt: People generally don't like talking about womens' bits!

Excellent idea for a thread!
My worst: Bleeding through my clothes whilst out in public and not knowing why.
I've learnt: To fight for myself, and to stand up for my quality of life.

My worst: "I'm sure your just depressed, take an antidepressant" while on percocet for pain at maximum strength. or another favorite "your just healing from your surgery" I've learned: "That doctors are morons that hide their lack of knowledge with arrogance and overcompensation for their inadequacies"

My worst - The side effects of gabapentin: making me sob so hard I started gagging and making me wonder if I should take a walk on a thawing lake or drive into oncoming traffic. That's when I decided to treat endo pain my own way.
I've learnt: Book-wise, I've learned a lot. But I think the biggest thing I've learned through all this is how to ask for help. I don't admit I need help much and I still struggle with it, but it's been a humbling experience.

My worst: 3 failed pregnancies What I've learnt: The pain and other symptoms do mean that I have physical limits, more than the "average" person, and I'm ok with that (quite a place to get to, for a former professional dancer, cyclist, and distance runner! It's been a decade of learning acceptance, slowly)

My worst: The pain I felt every cycle when the nodule out of my c-section scar would begin to bleed. I've learnt: That I really enjoy doing research on this and other girl problems... I'm studying to be a nurse and I had no clue what I wanted to specialize in... now I feel strongly about specializing in OB.

My Worst: People thinking im just an attention seeker and critisizing me over having endo Ive Learnt: Never trust what a doctor says as gospel, if you really want to know something go to the one place where they know it from first hand experience, like here

My worst: Endo robbing me of my womanhood.
I've learned: Not every doctor knows everything. If you don't have luck with one, then find another.
