It's supposed to be a natural anti-depressant. I think it is spelled "wort." Also, they have done studies on it that showed it reduces the efficacy of the birth control pill. My friend used to take it as an anti-depressant, and she loved it.

I've also only heard of it being used as an anti-depressant. I haven't heard of it in relation to endometriosis.
However, from what I understand (which, admittedly, isn't much) about some anti-depressants (at least the chemical ones) is that they can also help relieve pain. I'm not sure how or why (anti-inflammatory, perhaps, i dunno). St. John's Wort isn't chemical, but maybe it could have a similar effect on pain.
Regardless, it might still help some. Consider this: If it works to improve the mood or the spirit, then you'll be more optimistic, more relaxed. That alone will help you deal with endo on a psychological level. Which, in turn will also help you deal with the pain.

On the advice of my my mother, I just started taking it a week ago. As a mood uplifter, I am a big fan. I have read in a few places however, that it is not a good idea to use it if you are trying to get prgnant. Apparently, it nullifies birth control as well. So, don't use it if you are or not trying? Beats me. My DR. said it was fine to use until I get pregnant, then to stop. I'm currenlty off birth control but I'm not trying, so to speak, to get pregnant.

I have only just started trying it on low days, and on the few occasions that I've tried it, I've felt better very quickly. Have also heard from other ppl who have had a lot of success with it as a mood lifter.

It's not recommended for those trying to conceive, either the man or woman, as it can lead to birth defects (from what I've read in fertility books).

My sister swears by St Johns wort, she says it got her through her second year at uni, although you have to be careful because when u are low it lifts you up but when you start feeling better it can make you feel low.
I was going to try it, just to see if it works, I would rather take the natural route then go on prescription drugs.
