okay, apparently i'm the only non-neat freak around here!! or the others don't give a sh*t so they're not posting here, lol! Ahem....(raises hand) this would be me. LOL I'm totally NOT a neat freak either. I do clean all the time but only to keep my husband's OCD calm. He's the neat freak, I just sit and let him do it most of the time.

Um, you just described my floors... I cannot STAND to do floors. Or litter box. I had company over this weekend and *intended* to give the floors a good scrub, but settled instead for a sweep and swiffer. Sigh. It's disgusting. I've been wearing sandals inside ALL SUMMER! I guess what I'm saying is that I can sympathize!

I wear shoes inside too, but that's cause we get slivers from the bare plywood and old wood floors otherwise! OUCH! My sister told me something once. Baby steps to cleaning, she picks a corner a day to attack, something small, but by taking one small spot every day the whole house gets taken care of. Also having things as organized as possible (which takes a lot of work but once its done, makes it easier to clean) makes it less of a chore to clean up. I have been mildly succesful with these tips even with school, and work. The real test will be once the nursing program starts!!

You guys, I cleaned my shower today!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly think it's been 9 months since it was cleaned last, despite having company several times in between then. (Company usually motivates me to clean, but not the last year or so...) Now if only I can motivate myself to scrub my floors this weekend, I'll REALLY feel like I'm on the mend!

I never clean my floors either. I'll sweep them because of all the cat litter, but that's it. My Mom is so sweet. Every time she comes to visit me she cleans all the things I never do. I'm lucky to have her help.

Seth has been doing the cleaning I can't complain but men can not do housework like a woman. Never dusts, no windows or base board cleaning either. He does the basics and I love him for it but when I get my energy back I will have a ton of work to do:(

Karen, what book do you have for cleaning with vinegar? I think I want one.
I found this wonderful cleaning website from a friend (an endo sister who also has PCOS, actually). It's called flylady.net. I've been doing it for almost a year. Her big thing is decluttering, and you really don't realize how much clutter you have until you start getting rid of it. I think I got rid of half of my stuff! She emphasizes baby steps and being proud of the work you have done instead of feeling bad about what you haven't. I have modified it a little, and I think probably everyone does, but it works.

O, and I am not a neat freak either. I have five furry animals, and I wish I had taken some before pictures to show you guys. My house wasn't disgusting, but I would still freak out and tornado clean before company came over. Too ashamed for anyone to see my house looking awful. Now, we still have dog/cat toys all over, and the bunny pen is a mess (that gets cleaned monthly), but the majority of the house looks great. Fantastic, even. I am really proud of myself.
