I think a cleaner is a great idea Karen - if that makes you feel better then go for it!!
I'm thinking of starting to use more all niatural products, we have a range over here, but I find they are a lot more expensive, hence why I'm still breathing in all the crap from the cheap ones!!

Ooh, you can make a lot of your own! Baking soda does a lot, so does vinegar, lemon juice, salt, etc. If you have to clean a porcelain sink, a mix of baking soda with a spritz of lemon juice does wonders! I use mostly home-made stuff without the fumes, though I do supplement with a few of the natural ones here and there.

Oh I feel your pain...4 cats, 2 dogs, 1 teenager and a husband later and the cleaning is NEVER done and what's worse is that in one day is looks like it hasn't ever been done.
Like pretty, I too have the house with blankets over everything. It frustrates me to no end, we have brand new furniture under the blankets...but who would know? I also have throw rugs all over my brand new hardwood floors to keep the dogs nails from ripping up my floors...So yeah...it looks like a playhouse here, too. Grrr.
I am very much into the natural products and like Karen I use a lot of baking soda, lemon configurations and vinegar, too. I also use enzyme cleaners for glass and stainless steel cleaning. I haven't bought windex or bleach for years and am SO much healthier because of it. I used to literally get sick with a sore throat for days after using cleaning products in the bathrooms. No more.

I think the boys are cleaning the house for me today while I work. I work, sleep, go to doctors and try to have a social life. If they clean my house OMG it would be the best mothers day present ever.
