So, last night I went to visit my friends who have just moved into a 1800's farm further into Wales where it actually snows properly!!! The house was amazing and they are very happy.
But what was interesting is that we were chatting and I know she recently had her 5 year check for cancer - she's fine - she found she had it at 19, has had chemo, and an ovary removed. She was having some pain so they did a lap to have a look as they saw some tumor like masses in a scan.
To cut a long story short, it turns out she has endo. It's covering her insides (she didn't know exactly where etc as has had the all clear for the cancer and is now waiting the full results for the endo). We talked for ages, and her being a seasoned hospital visiter knows all the gynae docs at the hospital (we will be going to the same one), all the good drugs etc.
It was nice to see her taking it all in her stride because she knows the cancer isn't back, and we were swapping pain and coping stories. It was funny because she said whilst she can top most of her friends' stories with her cancer stories, everyone has something they are dealing with, and to look at us both, sat there having a drink chatting, you wouldn't know that we were in pain almost all the time and smiling through it!!!
One thing she said, is that she just wants to be healthy and happy. That's why she quit her job and moved out into the sticks!
Just thought I'd share
