I was just wondering if anyone has tried chiropractic treatments for endo pain? I called 2 chiro's today and they both said with simple manipulations they are very confident that they can help to aleviate the pain I have on day #3 of my period when it's the worst. They also said that the treatments will help with fertility as well. The offices both offer accupuncture and massage as well. They said that my bladder issues could also be a result of something being out of line and an adjustment might be all I need.
Thoughts?

Hey, I'm all for trying something new, especially if it's drug-free! The naturopath/kinesiologist (whatever you want to call him) I was seeing for a long time is a chiropractor as well. He never adjusted me, but really helped me with diet/supplements for a long time, and that's what started me rolling in the right direction. He also has a cold laser therapy that I can pop in for on really really bad days, which totally makes my pain next to nothing within a day!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that a chiropractor may be able to offer you something that you haven't tried yet. It may work, and it may be something that doesn't and you can say at least you tried. And I'd suggest acupuncture to ANYONE! Seriously! Doesn't hurt to try, right?

My hubby is all for the acupuncture, he thinks that it might work very well for me since I seem to be so sensitive. I'm all for the chiro adjustments as well, anything to help my fertility and getting pregnant again I'm all for it!

I get wonderful relief from chiropractic care. I will say that I have seen chiropractors who don't help and found only one who does. She adjusts my pubic bone and also works on my pelvic floor. If I have horrible cramps she can definitely alleviate pain for me. Seeing her on a regular basis helped regulate my periods. Went from anywhere between 32 and 36 days to 28 days!

I have terrible low back pain that i recently discovered from this site is a symtom of endo! The only thing that helps me is getting acupuncture and adjusted by the chiro. I am also looking at going back to an acupuncturist to specifically address the Endo. I have only used it to address the low back pain which works wonders for me!!!!

To piggy back on Tamela's comment, I should also add that I used to go to the chiropractor YEARS before the really bad endo pain started, while I was on BC for years. My pelvis kept getting out of alignment and my lower back was in awful shape. I could always tell it was coming because my right leg would pop and crack. I remember my chiro telling me something kept pulling it out of alignment the same way time after time but she didn't know what. Fast forward to years later, they found some adhesions on -surprise surprise- the right side of my pelvis (cecum/appendix/pelvic sidewall were adhered)... I've since gone off BC and although my lower back problems are manageable with Pilates these days, I can ALWAYS tell my endo pain is going to get bad when my right leg starts popping again... All that stuff is connected, and when some of it is messed up, it can mess up other parts of your body including alignment!
Glad you're getting some relief, Tamela!

Well, I just got home from seeing the chiropractor. He had me see the massage therapist first for a 30 minute massage which was great! I am always very tight in the neck and shoulders so that helped alot to relax me. I know that it also helps to release the toxins inside which can contribute to endo pain. The dr. did a bunch of adjustments and man did the bones crack - I was very locked up. He said tonight to expect alot of pain and to use ice packs and drink alot of water. He wants to see me 3x a week for 2 weeks and then see where we are at & I'm fine with that - I'm hoping that I have a subluxation that is causing the bladder problems. I'm also very very tight in my leg muscles which he said could be causing that pain I have near my butt from time to time. He suggested yoga. I'm not opposed to yoga except I come from a christian background and my mother keeps telling me to stay away from it. I'm torn - I don't think that people are bowing and doing other religious stuff during their yoga classes right? I might look into it and get more information and then make a decision.

Massage, yoga, chiropratic care can all help with you health. I see a massage therapist for my endo and she has made amazing things happen with my body. Pilates is also a wonderful way to help your pain. I think you should try whatever you feel comfortable doing. Yoga is not a religion. It helps so much with relaxing and streching. If your mom is worried about you taking yoga have her join you. It can benefit people who do not know much about a class to take it. I would say if you are comfortable trying it then you should do it. I have never had anyone say anything negative about yoga or pilates. She may enjoy it once she has a chance to experience it.

Thanks for the great advice! I didn't mean to start a religious debate and I'm definately strong enough in my own mind to make my own decisions. I'm going to check out the local YMCA and see what they have to offer. I might also buy some stretching videos so I can do them at home anytime, we'll see but I definately think it will help me to stretch things out more.

(Chicagogal - I moved your post over here about wondering if you should go to the same chiropractor)
As for the facilities, don't judge a book by a cover. If you feel comfy with the guy, see him again. If you don't, then don't. I'd rather a doc spend money on a good education than a swanky practice. After all, he'll only be passing the cost on to his patients...

My experiences of yoga have nothing whatsoever to do with religion! Just stretching and breathing.

Just a quick update - today went to a different chiropractor. LOVE love love him! He did an analysis on my spine with this machine that measures wave pulses or something. He also said that my pelvis was very locked up as well as my neck and shoulders. He said that once we get to some adjustments and open up the pelvis that should help me out alot. I had a 30 minute massage and she just worked the back - no neck today but it was AWESOME!!! He wants me to go back tomorrow for the adjustment - he said he wanted to let the massage do it's thing and I think because my period started today he wanted to give me a break. I'm very excited - I think this might work or at least help alot. I'm glad I kept looking and didn't settle last week. I feel at peace with this doctor.
