From what I understand, having an enlarged CBD is a relatively common after having your gallbladder removed. If you're concerned about it, it'd be a good idea to ask your doctor. As far as the fatty liver disease... I do know a bit about it but I'm not comfortable with discussing the causes here. If you google it, you'd find tons of information as far as causes, diagnosis, treatment etc.. Are you seeing a doctor for this? How was it diagnosed? Here's some pretty good info for you: www.healthscout.com/ency/1/578/main.html

nope, no doctor, They are supposed to call to get me in with a gastro doc eventually. They mentioned it in passing. Didn't seem to even think it was anything. I asked how sure they were because there was no problems during the Cholecystecomy. I'm concerned that its not fatty liver at all. What I really suspect is its more endo. Only way to know for sure is more surgery. Won't go there...

How did they diagnose it? Did they see it when you had your gallbladder removed or did you have some type of scan?

Endo on your liver? Did the doctor say that you had Fatty Liver Disease? Are you thinking it is endo and not the liver disease. Confused about this one...

I did a quick search on endo on the liver here a link it looks to be rare not saying that it could not be endo but here is the link to look at. I would discuss this further with your doctor. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2023912/

Yeah I'm confused. how do you know you have this? What test did they run? How did they "mention it in passing?"

In most cases, the surgery to remove the gallbladder is a laproscopic surgery. They would have been able to see if you had endo way up there. I'm really curious to the answers of the questions I asked. Are you getting this information from your post op report? Language such as "enlarged CBD post cholecystectomy" is very characteristic of a post-op report and not typically how doctors talk to their patients "in passing."

the doctor didnt' "look" for endo during the chole. It was one of the first things I asked. She did find pretty narly adhesions which could possibly indicate endo. BUT no actual biopsys etc... There was no fatty deposits at that time but there was adhesions around the gallbladder and liver. My understanding is that its pretty darn rare as well. I'm still waiting to get to another gastro. The scheduler called while I was working and I left her a message.. phone tag! The ultrasound sound report said "possible fatty liver disease" the doctor mentioned it sort of in passing like it was nothing. I do have a hiatal hernia (small for now but being watched) so the constant swelling could be one of three things... the liver/chole, the hernia, or the very rare endo... Just not sure what to think? Its not like they handed me literature about it like they normally do in a doctors office.
