so my aunt was telling me that she takes fish oil daily (in pill form from those norweign fish) and it helps with inflammation... I am vegan so i'm kinda not wanting to use it to find out if it works or what.. But i was curious if anyone with endo on here uses fish oil tablets and if they have seen a reduction in pain?

I don't take any, but have read that omega 3s are great for inflammation. I'm pretty sure that omega 3s are found in lots of other substances, too, so perhaps there's a vegan-friendly option out there? Whatever the case, go with the best quality that you can!

My grandmother takes fish oil to help with horrible arthritis in her hands. She says it really does help with the pain from inflammation in the joints.

They do make an Omega 3 supplement that is made from Seaweeds and is totally vegan. I've tried the gummy chews and hated them. But, I do believe they make them in pill form too. I started drinking Minute Maid juice with omegas instead. I'm allergic to Fish so I cannot take the fish oil supplements.

I take Krill Oil. It has really helped with low back pain and cramping for me. It is supposed to be healthier and more potent than fish oil. Here is a link: krilloil.mercola.com/

I was told that I should take a daily fish oil capsule. The brand that was suggested was the trader joe's odorless 1200mg capsules 2x a day. My new chiropractor said that fish oil is excellent because it's an anti inflammatory so I'm going to start taking it tonight and see if I notice any difference. I was just wondering if any of you are also taking a fish oil capsule and what your experience has been with it?

I've been taking fish oil on and off even before my diagnosis with endo. One of my doctors suggested it to me in order to help deal with my depression issues. Anyways I do take fish oil regularly and I think it helps. It definitely helps with my bloating. When I went to a lecture about endo in Oct. Mary Lou from the endo association highly recommended taking a fish oil supplement.

Make sure what you're getting is Omega 3's. You do NOT want Omega 9's as those cause inflamation, where as 3's reduce it. Some 6's are okay, others aren't, so I stick with a strictly 3 basis. But I do take one every day. I don't know if I notice a huge difference with taking it, but it can't hurt right?

I tried fish oil and I always have a hard time remembering to take it. Also to help with the burping up fishy stuff I heard that you can put them in the freezer and it's supposed to help. I really need to remember to take that stuff.

Anything smelly is usually better taken with food I think. And it's soooo important to remember to get the right combination of Omegas.

I've been taking them for several months now. I don't notice a difference, but I also have been doing much better overall due to other treatments. I've never had the burping problem, but once I put one in my mouth that had a tiny puncture and the oil started oozing out in my mouth. It tasted disgusting!!!
