Has anybody seen the film, and just finished watching the TV series? I loved both, very powerful drama. Funny and touching moments, 80s throwbacks, excellent acting and direction. It can be harrowing some of the portrayals of violence and sexual violence, but I'd recommend it as a series and I think it showcases British talent as well as the issues of the time.

Never heard of it! Is there a link you can post with the synopsis? Sounds interesting!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_England that's the original film I tried to find a streaming link but a minimal dig around the net returned nothing en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_England_%2786 the series that followed The synopsis is rubbish and does it no justice, it was really excellent but had me shaking at some points. And again no links! Channel 4 has it on their site but I know you guys in the US won't be able to watch it.

I was going to watch the series but didn't get round to it. I'm kinda glad I didn't from some of the comments I read on Facebook! I don't like me TV drama to be too close to the bone..
