So tomorrow I have to get up at 5 to make sure I make it to the airport on time to catch my flight. I'm really nervous. I've never been away from home this long (6 wks). But that's not really the thing that's scaring me. I'm worried about getting sick. I mean, sometimes these ferocious cramps come out of nowhere and I get massive diarrhea and I was, one time, screaming in my mum's arms for about an hour, like I was in labor, the pain was so bad. And you know, your best friends are understanding, but at times like that you really wouldn't want anyone but your mum or your hubby or someone so close that they just do things like that for you, you know? I'm armed with plenty of pain pills. My doctor was really nice to give me an ample supply for my trip. And so far, being on the Endo diet 2 weeks now has helped dramatically. But...I know I'm not Endo free, so there's no guarantees. And these headaches I've been getting lately, to the point of throwing up, they make me incapacitated. And HELLO! im in Costa Rica! The last thing I want to be is incapacitated. But I guess all I can do is my best. I'm packing my heating pad, and taking motion sickness meds to hopefully help with the dizziness that I experience with my migraines.

Thanks guys My biggest worry right now is the plane ride. With all this motion sickness that ive been getting lately I hope I don't get a migrane and upchuck on the plane! But thank goodness for dramamine...hopefully its enough to get me there.

Hey Shannon!
How are you feeling?? Did you make it to Costa Rica?? Have you been able to keep up with the diet??
I just wanted to throw this out there...the excruciating pain that makes you feel like you are in labor sounds exactly like what I go through when I have a cyst that ruptures. The pain is so terrible it makes me vomit and pass out. It is indescribable. The cysts are on the ovaries and are caused by the Endo. They are usually referred to as "chocolate cysts" because when they are broken or rupture they are filled with old blood which is brown and therefore "chocolate". (a terrible dishonor to a wonderful treat!) Now I am in no way trying to diagnose you- please understand. It may be something completely different. It may be worth having an ultrasound (transvaginal...they can see more and in my case they hurt a lot less than the abdominal version) to see if you are having cysts. Unfortunately they can't do anything and I have literally had docs say "go home and wait for it to burst" JERKS! But in the end that is all you can do. However, if you are anything like me, just knowing exactly what is happening gives you peace of mind. Again, I am not saying that this is what you have but reading your description sounds so familiar I thought I would mention it.
Hope things are going well and you are enjoying your trip! Let us know how you are doing!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted since Thursday...things have been kinda overwhelming the past couple of days. The trek here was a long one and I've been sleeping like all the time just trying to let my body catch up. Haven't been too sick yet...sticking pretty close to my diet. Felt a migraine coming on today, but took some Dramamine and Ibu and slept for a couple hours and managed to ward it off.
Amber: I have wondered if it was cysts bursting myself. My mom had one burst once when she was pregnant with me and she thought she was miscarrying she was in so much pain. But the thing is, I am on the Depo shot right now and I don't get my cycle. I haven't had a period since December, so the cysts and the Endo shouldn't be growing...yet I still get this. But who knows... Endo is such a strange disease, and this whole Depo thing isn't working for me like I'd like it to. I'm thinking of seeing someone higher up in the Marshfield or Mayo clinics...not just an OBGYN but someone who deals specifically with Endo, when I get home. The idea terrifies me, but I don't know what more to do...
