I'm quite sure you'd manage it! If you're doing all this, don't you maybe want to send your kids to a proper school, give you more time?

Congrats on the job. I know that working in a nursing type environment can be really demanding because you're on your feet the entire time. I worked 12 hour shifts as an ER Tech and when my endo pains were bad I had a really hard time. I managed to do it but it was hard at times. Plus I don't have endo nearly as badly as you do.
How do you think you'll cope with the endo pain and standing on your feet for 8 hours? Do you think you'll be ok?

Good point. That would be a huge concern of mine.

re: jenaya, I bought really expensive shoes!! That was my first plan of attack. I also wear ted hose for my legs to help with achy legs. I survived the forty hours of clinical to get my lic. but that was one day at a time not five in a row. My hubby is under the mistaken impression that I will be so busy I won't hurt (he still thinks its a mind over matter issue) maybe he is partly right. I'm hoping so... re: hellsbells, My hubby does the schooling when I'm not home. We co-teach so that we can keep doing it. In washington state homeschooling is a big thing. Teachers are very over worked and classrooms are over full. So many of the more educated parents are going to homeschooling if they can. Its become the thing to do, our kids test higher then public school kids in reading and math especially. Also in the end I won't be working full time, only per diem. Its three days a month, but I have to get this initial three weeks of training in. I don't mind getting asked about the homeschooling. I know a lot of people don't know what it is are why any one would do it. I get to spend a lot more time with my kids then most parents. I know they are learning better at home then they would at our local schools.

I guess homeschooling really is a personal choice. My personal opinion (that you don't have to accept) is that public school teaches you more than what's on a test. Life doesn't come to you in a structured, organized fashion. I can see how children who are homeschooled would score higher on tests, but how are they going to be able to cope with a diverse work environment when they're adults? How are they going to be able to handle adversity if they've never experienced it with their peers?
I don't want to hassle you too much about your personal choice to homeschool. As long as it works for you then great!

Do you teach your kids English? Grammar? Spelling? Some people think it's unnecessary these days, with all of the 'text speak' and so forth, but you can't underestimate the importance of being able to write well, not just read and add up. Forgive me for being so bold, but there are several typographical and grammatical errors in your post and it makes me nervous for your children. I'm a linguist by nature, so I'm pretty pedantic about these things.

re: hellsbells, Yes sir, you'd better believe it!! Its a high priority for me, we do spelling, english, cursive writing, Math, history, geography, science, drama, music, and we have a coop group on tuesdays with other homeschool moms and they do a science of the periodic tables, letter writing and music theory and choral. And my not so favorite subject right now is sex education, because in this day it has to be started pretty young and I have a ten year old. Ugh!

False start! I got all dressed and got to work 15 minutes early in my scrubs, ready to go... and no supervisor so no work. I did get to sit through the wonderful HIPPA videos. FUN times... I got payed to do it though so that was something. They took my pictures for brand new ID badge. I'll feel all kind of important with a shiny badge that gets me in the door. I can also charge food at the cafeteria with my badge if I need to so that's cool. So excited to actually get to work. Just as well I didn't today cause I had to get my tooth fixed yesterday and CRIKEY does it still hurt! I didn't get a call from the supervisor this afternoon so I'm assuming no work tommorow either. Sometime soon I'm going to get going on this. LOL

;D Just finished my first day and then had to go to spanish class for three hours. I'm home and happy to be so. Loved my job, think its going to be great. I had a great cna to work with today who was super helpful. I know she was less then excited to work with someone so very new but she was happy with me by the end of the day so I feel good! I even got to take vitals... Woo Hoo. I feel like somebody now. The best part is that I got my schedule and she was able to shift a few days slightly so I need less babysitters! Our supervisor is pretty nice too. All in all I'm exhausted, my feet hurt (need to get some inserts) but my tummy behaved mostly although its bloated out to... and I'm very content! The best way to be.
