My brother posted this on facebook today and I wanted to share it on here as well. I consider myself and family lucky we evacuated during Katrina alot of people I know stayed through the horrible exprience and despite being displaced for a month and coming back to a destroyed house. I still consider my family and myself lucky for not having to actually endure the hardships of staying. Here is the story I remember the most from the days of news coverage that I watched from the hotel room. www.youtube.com/watch?v=S68ksghDNg4For the first two days I did not know where my family was. The phones were down and we could not contact each other. When I heard my dad for the first time I can not describe the relief I felt. My brother and his wife my nieces and my sister all made it out safe. My dads house has yet to be rebuilt. I have many friends in New Orleans that lost homes and businesses. Aw, I remember I was on a dinner date with a guy named Ralph when that story hit. It's one of those events that will stay in the thoughts of our generation!
Thanks for sharing, Keri.

For all I'm on the other side of the Pond, I was in the States in El Paso when Katrina hit. I was glued to the news. I donated on behalf of myself and my company. Devastating xx
