So more recently I got back into writing, I wrote a couple of songs a few years ago that we never saw through (we were supposed to record them as dance tracks [barf] and make big bucks, big bucks I tell you) and I recently rewrote them and started writing more. Atm I'm trying to write some good lyrics to a piece of music my friend wrote. The pressure is a lot worse. I can write my own stuff and keep it under wraps if its rubbish, but this is open to criticism from my friend and from the people who go to see his bands! Just wanted to know if there are any other people on here who write music/lyrics? I can do melodies too but given that I play the keys like a lobster having a stroke, we're hoping that I pick up the guitar fast when I get one so that I can write complete song myself. I dislike relying on someone else. I had a writer's block last week it was horrible. And this week I'm better but I'm writing poetry rather than songs. I have never understood the appeal of poems.

I don't write songs not can I sing, but I played the saxophone for about 12 years! It was a huge part of my life. I can't believe I stopped. I still have both of my saxes and I was determined to get back to playing again and haven't. I really need to start it back up. I miss it tons!

An old boyfriend writes and records a lot of stuff - has his own studio in his basement. When we were together, I loved spending time down there with him when he'd show me the new stuff he was working on. I'm always really good at saying 'I like that!' and crap about coming up with my own stuff, though. Much better listener than creator! Best of luck, sounds like a fun, creative challenge!

Last week I posted one of your lyrics as my facebook qoute of the day! People like it keep writing! I have no musical talent but still sing my ass off in the shower like I am a diva. I look up to anyone who can sing, write songs or play a instrument. My husband played trumbone and every year for homecoming at his college he goes and plays in the Ohio Northern Alumni Band:)

I love music, and I can hear it, but feel like I'm pretty limited as far as actually creating any music. Have loads and loads of jealous fascination for all singing chicks. guys not so much (so few guys can actually sing! i think) so go ahead and be wonderful and I will be alternately totally jealous of you, and get a biiiig crush on you, and think about how great you are! but, as you know, I CAN write some totally obscene lyrics, at will! ha ha ha ha ha

When we have something together (Jenaya and Mr KSA, we should soooo jam on skype haha) I will youtube it. Cos really I might be bloody awful! My friend does a weekly slot at a bar and restaurant and his singer has an incredible voice so I write more with her voice in mind. I was in the school choir and wrote poetry as a kid so I guess it's natural to try! Aargh I'm so excited that I'm not even feeling that shy about it. Good vibes! Who are everyone's favourite musicians. Over here atm I'm loving Ellie Goulding and Florence and the Machine, check them out if you can!
