I was thinking about this when I was drying off my tummy this morning in the shower. I plan on having another child in the future and I know your skin really stretches when pregnant. My lap scar in my belly button is REALLY unflexable, and I assume scar tissue doesn't stretch like regular skin.
Have any of you moms had a pregnancy after your lap? How did you scars react? I'm really afraid my belly button one will rip!

I think this is worth looking up! I would think it would be ok. Some women have huge C-section scars and have pregnancies without problems. The lap scar is tiny.

Over time, I would think that your belly button scar will get softer. I had a lap in July 2007 and got pregnant in September 2007. My lap scars were not a problem at all. They stretched out a little at the time, but now they're back to normal; in fact, they're barely visible, although I can still feel them.
If you're really concerned, ask your doctor. Or try Arvigo/Mayan abdominal massage, which can help break up scar tissue.

I had my gall bladder removed 5 years ago, which gave me a scar in my belly button. When I had my lap, she cut through my scar (to minimize me having 2 belly scars). And this scar is really stiff now, I wonder if it's worse because it's scar tissue on scar tissue?
The massage might work! Good idea!
