I just got a sample of this for a migraine I've had for 4 days now that other stuff isn't helping. Has anyone ever heard about this? It's crazy exspensive ($237 for 9 pills). You take one every 2 hours, so I can see that going VERY fast.
Any ideas if this is a quality medication or not? I haven't looked it up online yet.

Sorry, haven't heard of it, but I've read somewhere that taking magnesium supplements can help with a migraine toot-sweet. Best to research that a bit more, but might be something to consider (and let us know if you do!) trying.

This thread is old, hope I'm not necroing by replying to it? I don't know if Lizzylou found the answer she was looking for? I was prescribed Treximet, read some reviews online and it seems people regard it as one of the best migraine medicines. I wish it did not make me as drowsy and nauseous as it does, but it's very effective. Somehow I found the kindest neurologist possible?..I told her it was way too expensive for me and she prescribed the two components of Treximet (Naproxen and Sumatriptan) instead. It's cheaper this way :>
p.s.: Thank you Karen for that tip!!

Hey seashell, it's great to revivce an old thread if one already exists for what you want to talk about, no worries there. Is this actually a med, or pain treatment?

I have never heard of this drug and I'm kinda mad! I've had migraines for 20 years! Every doctor I see for these stupid headaches they always want to put me on some daily drug regiment. I HATE taking drugs everyday especially the ones for migraines. They have such horrible side effects! I read that you only take one Treximet pill when you are having a migraine? I don't understand why I have never been offered this before. It sounds like a great migraine treatment.
Does it make your migraines go away seashell? My migrains are horrific. I can't even walk or sit up straight and I have to lay in bed with so much vicoden on board that I'm basically retarded. I HATE IT.

Hey I was wondering, I keep seeing these warnings about increased risk for blood clots, stroke and heart attack. Can we take this stuff while on birth control which have the same risks? It almost seems dangerous since they both have this problem. UGH! I was getting my hopes up too! Edit: I found this site that gives probably WAY more info then necessary but it says nothing about contraindications for people on birth control. That just boggles my mind! Why would you want to take two medications that have the same risks? www.rxlist.com/treximet-drug.htmI'll talk to the neuro about it on Thursday when I see him to get all this info cleared up. Even knowing all these risks I still kinda wanna try it. My migraines are crippling and I need SOMETHING!
