My easiest costume was the GOT MILK GIRL. Next year if anyone wants a cheap easy costume paint a white strip above your mouth and wear a white tshirt that says Got Milk? writtten or I had mine made at a tshirt shop. You could stencil it yourself tho. Jeans and black and white converse. I won the best costume that year. LOL well I was much younger and forgot to add I didnt where a bra! I could never pull that off now but it was in college!

If I'd still had a job, and we could've dressed up, I would've gone as Peg Bundy.
I never dressed up a whole lot, but once, I went to school as an old lady, and in kindergarten, Mom dressed me up as a pirate. A girl pirate... amongst all the ballerinas and princesses, lol. Go, Mom!

Its funny that you mentioned that costume idea sunshine. My husband and I dressed up as Al and Peg Bundy this year. Everyone thought it was a really clever idea. I loved it because its not something that's done all the time and I really hate costumes that are just s**tty versions of other things (i.e., sexy doctor, sexy police officer, etc.)

That's awesome. Yeah, the sexy _________ gets a little old, sometimes, unless it's something unusual.

Whoa, it obviously changed what I originally said to something weird in that last post! I forgot I can't use certain words without being edited.

So I have already started to plan my costume and this year I am going to the CIRCUS:) Ummm Britney style LOL www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVhJ_A8XUgcOr as close as a little 5ft brunette can get;) Last year was so much fun doing Kat Von D LOVED IT! So this year here comes Britney except Im not changing my hair but I am going to do the Ring Leader. I have looked at a few sites that have costumes some are really cute but I am all about doing my own spin.....I need to find a few things a sequens skirt and I am going to add a little fringe to it. Top hat and add feathers and emblishments the more the sparkle the better, and a corset . I already have my makeup lined up and prob going to be sitting in the chair a while again this year. www.halloweenandcostumes.com/p-4052-french-kiss-ring-mistress-adult-costume.aspxThe outfit above is kinda what I am gonna go for but first Iwant to try to make it myself. Anyone else dressing up this year?

I remember your Kat Von D pics - looked fab! I hate this thread. I adore Hallowe'en but we don't do it quite as big as you guys do. We're getting there though! Anybody know any good tales/stories? I grew up being told that of you brush your hair in the mirror at midnight on Hallowe'en you'll see the face of the man you're going to marry. Never worked for me!

We had the same tale only it was look in the mirror and say bloody mary 5 times or something like that. The myth ironically goes back to England. Mary I of England (1553-1558) Not sure why but I guess if you say her name she will appear in your mirror. LOL we did it as children. I always thought of Mary, Queen of Scots and off with her head. I do not know why I just always put those two together. Come to the states one year for Halloween and I will show you a good time:)

I love halloween. Keri you need to come to DC!
I wanted to be a ninja turtle but I think the costume might be too expensive so I might default to being Pocahontus instead.

Ha ha, my town is known for Halloween! There's such a big bash that we've made national news for riots on Halloween... Things get crazy out of hand though they've provided more structure now to prevent some of the chaos! Not sure what I'll be this year, but I always love dressing up! People can be so clever. I danced with a tampon one year! BTW, love your idea, Keri!!

Karen tells the truth. I'm from about 2 hours away and it's kind of a rite of passage to head over there for halloween at least once in your life. My fiance and his best friend went one year. They were zombies or something like that, I don't really remember, but I saw pictures and he looked HOT. Those guys always seem to dress up in costumes together for halloween. His friend's wife and I always talk about joining in one year, but we never do. Not sure what my son will be this year, I kind of forced him to be a cute panda last year instead of a super hero, that was the last year I'd win that debate so I'm sure he'll be spiderman or something like that.

my two year old is going as a ghost - such an easy costume to make, though because he is so little, i am going to get a white hat, paint his face white, and then the sheet with arm holes. My 7 year old wants to go as a care bare sunshine bear, so I just need to find a yellow shirt and pants, and make a felt tummy symbol, and felt ears added to a head band. She wants me to be a carebear as well, so I will probable be one two. on our street there is a house that is written up in the paper every year, they decorate the outside of there house, as well as the inside, so they invite you in as well, it is quite something to see. The outside will have live maniqins that move. But this makes it so that we get around 60-70 kids per year, unlike my other family members who will only get between 15-20. this year we are giving out packs of cards - they come in fun princess and cars, theme`s so the kids will love them, last year we gave out playdough, it was a big hit. Every year I write down what time each kid came, and what costume they are wearing, this is a tradition my dad does, and it is really fun when you go back to past year lists and see the trends that were going around. I LOVE HALOWEEN
