I like Karen's suggestion to see if your doc does email, that way you can clarify and have something to refer back to. I know this is a long shot, but do you have a compunding pharmacy you could call? I have never been but they seem to be the right choice when figuring out bioidenticals. I think when you first posted after your appt you were more upbeat but now you just seem overwhelmed, which is crappy. Can you do the Vivelle without the cream until you have a better handle on things? I hope you can figure this out as quickly as possible!

Another thought, if you have a reg ob/gyn to follow your levels, could you get him/her to collaborate with Dr. mos on a plan? You need & deserve someone accessible to help you figure this all out, whoever that might be.

I'm studying for a test right now so I can't do anything today but I'm going to try and call the office tomorrow. I know she is not in on Fridays (its her surgery day) but maybe I can set up a telephone consult or something. You guys are right and I just can't leave this. I'm unfortunately really stressed right now with our accelerated Summer quarter and trying to figure out what our professor wants. It was pretty rough before but now we are cramming to much into a shortened quarter and its very frustrating.

Still not having good luck with communication with the doctor. We keep playing phone tag. Dr. Mos called in a script for Progestin. I don't know if its an add on, or instead of... Wait and see if I can get a hold of them in the morning. My only day off this week, so how much of it will be me on the phone with the doctor. ARGH!

I was taking precautions against a trip to the ER for a second bowel blockage last night. Had the horrible aches, and bloated stomach and felt like I was going to start vomiting, so I started my bowel steps to take care of it hopefully. Only problem is I got so dehydrated that my IC kicked in really bad and I was awake for a large portion of last night in horrible pain. Finally got to sleep about daylight, just in time for the alarm clock to go off. ugh, so ready for a nice long break from school so I can take care of myself for a while. I have been having horrible pelvic pain that wakes me up every morning. It used to be I felt good at least in the morning. I'm so sick of taking the hormones and they are now causing skin irritation. blech!

So, I waaaaaay overdid it. We went hiking and I forced myself to keep hiking with my family long after I should have stopped. When we got to the bottom is when things got interesting. I was so sick. I vomited, I was dizzy, and miserable. I scared the sh*t out of myself! When I threw up I pulled something loose in my belly. It was actually pulsating, hard, and twisting so I'm pretty darn sure it was a chunk of bowel. I screamed quite loudly and I'm sure the campers next to us were wondering what was going on. I was able to 'push' whatever hurting back in. I was terrified then and we were camping and an hour away from help. My husband offered to hook me up with his emergency IV fluid, as we knew some of my intense pain was due to dehydration but I declined as I was definitely scaring the kids at this point in time. I threw up a second time after waiting several hours before trying again to get some fluids down. Finally after the massive headache wouldn't let me sleep to try to rest and recover, I was able to take a tiny amount of Ibuprofen with a tiny sip of water. That was around midnight. The next morning the headache was gone, and the belly was still very, very tender. This happened wednesday. I don't know what to think about all of it. I have had two BM's since then so I was happy as my hubby and I were both concerned that another trip to the hospital was imminent.

Oh wow that is scary!! I'm glad you're ok but I think you know when to listen to your body from now on. How are you feeling today?

I'm really exhausted. My belly is tender like a sore muscle but its slowly recovering. The first two days rolling over in bed, I had to hold everything in, but now I seem to be doing better. Its just concerning... It made me feel even more broken and pathetic then I already was, but that's my new normal. I was recovered enough the next day to go for a short hike but I have been very careful. I scared my hubby pretty good. He was pretty angry at himself. He was so proud that I pushed myself to the top, but he has grounded me now. He kept saying "we shouldn't have pushed you", but really I pushed myself. I get so tired of feeling like I can't do things I think I should.

I know what you mean, I missed a family event today because I couldn't push it but normally I do. Hubs always get so protective, but it's hard to stop a determined lady.
You think it's a hernia? Have you had one before? You can also do a nice muscle strain from throwing up. Dehydration is terrible, usually sets off my bowel which leads to more dehydration, argh!

I believe it was my hernia acting up, as I do have several But I didn't know if it was possible to get a "charley horse" in your belly muscles?

When I had the SBO I was so sore in my abdominal muscles, but I had been heaving for 5 hours. But I know when running or afterward I am most likely to pull muscles when dehydrated, so I would say that wasn't helping matters (I get wicked charley horses in my calves, sometimes in the middle so the night).

It's funny because I didn't know you could get them there either until I started getting them myself. I didn't start getting them until I had that big open abdominal surgery. I have been wanting to ask my oncologist if this is common for people after abdominal surgeries but I won't see him until the end of the month. When I find out I'll let you know! You could have gotten them from dehydration too though. That can cause some nasty cramps. I hope you start feeling better soon! I still think it's totally awesome that you're getting out and being active!
