We just had our first prenatal appointment yesterday after a deliriously happy 2 weeks with 4 positive pregnancy tests (confirmed clinically at the appointment yesterday).
This was our first attempt at ttc after a difficult surgery to remove the endo. The surgery went really well, but the surgeon was really clear that we needed to 'get going' if we were going to try for a baby. We conceived the first month we tried!
But last night and today I am bleeding heavily with lots of clots. Dr. told me that yesterday's exam would probably cause some cramping and spotting. When I spoke with his colleague this morning (it's weekend, so I got the call dr), he sounded pretty skeptical that the pregnancy was okay.
We are so upset. And worried that we'll have to wait a long time before being able to try again - during which time the endo will have a chance to grow.

I'm very sorry to hear about this... I have also had a miscarriage and I know how hard it is. Big HUGS!

Hey my heart goes out to you, as it does to anyone who is going through the bumpy journey of life. It can be a rough ride at times. What you describe obviously does not look good but I'm assuming you will go and get properly checked. Your symptoms do not absolutely mean that you have miscarried for definite. I have done quite a bit of reading about this recently and (for example) apparently as many as 1 in 10 pregnancies are thought to be multiple and the suspected miscarriage is actually the passing of one or more of the embryo's - not both. I'm not saying this is what has happened to you but you need to go and get an early scan so they can check for sure. You managed to conceive naturally very quickly so the odds are that you will conceive again, although I can understand that it is natural to think the worst. Some research does suggest that women are more likely to conceive in the months following miscarriage so, when you feel ready, you can try again. Also in my research in almost every story I read there has been a loss but ultimately the vast majority of women, including those with endo go on to have health pregnancies.

Thank you, oma and miriam - it was so nice to have your responses to refer to over the weekend. I'm glad to report that we had everything checked out this morning, saw the baby and his/her little heartbeat on the sonogram, and things look okay. I'm still bleeding, but dr. is not worried, so we are trying not to worry.
What a terrifying thing. Hope it's the end of our drama with this little one!

Fingers crossed! A good friend bled throughout her entire pregnancy, she was always on edge... Here's hoping things continue to go well for you and the little one!

Fingers crossed here as well. Did he check your progesterone?

Yes. He ran a slew of blood work including progesterone. Should have the results shortly.
Have you done progesterone supplements before? This is my first baby, so we're totally in the dark. I've done very little reading in this particular area (there's so much to read ... sigh).

Yes. My OBGYN had me take progesterone cream because I was already taking it per his orders to lengthen my luteal phase. He didn't want me to stop taking it for fear it may cause a drop in my level. If my progesterone would have shown low to begin with, he would have had progesterone suppositories for me to take. This is something that you should discuss with your doctor, though, if you're concerned about. Every case is different. Hopefully your labwork will come back fine.

i did have problem with bleeding with my last pregnancy because of a placenta trying to grow over the cervix. It finally fixed itself about a month later when we had a second ultrasound. I'm glad to hear baby is ok!!
