Hey, I just got my first shot today and they put me on Norethindrone 5mg for add-back. It is my understanding that this is just progesterone. Maybe ask him about that. My literature from the company that makes Lupron suggested speaking with your doctor if you have headaches or depression or mood changes. So, that may be the reason for the BC prescription. It may be that the Ovcon has super low estrogen in it and may help with your headaches, but not effect Lupron's effectiveness.
The first time I was on Lupron 2 years ago I didn't have any add-back therapy, but they thought it would be a good idea this time around.
Write down all your questions and make a copy to give your Doctor too, that may help him when you are in his office for follow up. It helped me when I went in to see my doctor. Good luck and I hope he's able to explain to you in better detail next time you go in.

my doc said going on ovcon, (which is a form of northedoine SP) and he told me i might have a cycle but it will only be spotting. I am seriously scared of having any type of cycle because i feel great its just these headaches are kicking my arse! i dont want to trade one pain for another. The headaches come and go, im afraid if i go on BC it will make the pain come back for good...
