My kinesiologist (from what I understand - he's similar to a naturopath or however you spell it) had me start putting wheat germ oil on all my scars twice a day for the last week. He says some really old scars could be causing the pain I'm having since the skin is a large transmitter of my energy and old scars can block it, etc. (I don't know if I quite buy it all, but I'm desperate for some relief and a good friend had really good success with him for something else.) I did a little research and it turns out wheat germ oil is supposed to help regenerate cells.
Anyway, my point is, I've been putting it on my lap scars twice a day, too, and after only a week, they're a lot less red - starting to get more pinky-ish and much less shiny than they were just a week ago! My lap was 2-1/2 months ago so they're still quite fresh, but figured I'd pass it along to the rest of you just in case.
(Oh, and they tried to sell me an expensive version of it but I settled on the $7 bottle of gel caps - I just poke 'em with a pin and pinch the cap to get it out.)

I might have to go grab some of this! I have a terrible scar on my right wrist from two reconstructive surgeries. The scar is huge and UGLY. Lol.

I've heard Mederma (sp?) works pretty good, too, but I'm down with the natural way if possible. Probably has to be somewhat cheaper, too, I'd think. Good luck if you try it!

I saw a plastic surgeon for my last lap scars. The surgeon did not drop through my belly button, but cut through my muscles to the side of the belly button (the dipsh*t!)....anyway, the plastic told me to massage olive oil into it twice a day. It's sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much improved!!!! Try it!

Sweet - there are options!
I might also add that he's having me add wheat germ oil to ANY scars since he says the skin is the larget way to transmit energy through the body and scars block this, which leads to problems with how the body copes. He particularly stressed that I slather the top of my foot in oil since he 'read' my energy and said a scar on my foot is causing a lot of problems. Only I don't have a scar on my foot... Still don't buy into it all but we'll see... And, hey, if I can get my lap scars to clean up a bit, I guess that at least counts for something!

rosehip is really good, i've used that before and also the bio-oil cass mentioned. Plain old vitamin e oil is also pretty good. Whatever you use, you have to make sure you stick to using it regularly...i tend to forget about it, put it on like once a week, and wonder why its not working!!
