OK, now I'm confused and I really could use some help. I really was sure I was pregnant, though I haven't picked up a test yet. My period was supposed to come on Saturday, and it didn't, and didn't, and didn't. I'm NEVER late. I've never been late in my life. Sunday and Monday, I had the tiniest, lightest spotting, but so light...barely perceptible. Plus, I was feeling really lightheaded while teaching my dance class, and while exercising yesterday, and out of breath much faster (I have decent stamina and never get out of breath just from teaching or working out). Yesterday, nothing. All day today, nothing. Suddenly, tonight, I'm bleeding. Huh?
This is bizarre because, like I said, I am never late. The only time I ever missed a period was after my lap. So, what the hell? Was there a ball of cells in there that just gave up after a few days? Come on! I was just getting used to the idea!
Is it possible to bleed a little and still be pregnant? Or am I just having a very weird period? Or am I having an early miscarriage (though it seems weird to call it that so early, if that's what it is - if that's what it is it's just a couple of cells)?

You can bleed and be pregnant and not have a miscarriage.
You can bleed and have a miscarriage.
You can have your period.
And never having been late in your life doesn't mean you can't be late ever. If ovulation is even a day late, then your period will be late. Anything can throw it out of whack, even if you've never been late before.
This is why I am a fan of early pregnancy testing and charting.
I hope it works out for you, whichever way you want.

Well, I guess time will tell. That, and the pregnancy test I bought just now. Mysteries, wrapped in enigmas, solved by a trip to the Duane Reade.

Be sure to use first-morning urine, as that is when the pregnancy hormone is the most likely to be detected (during early pregnancy), since first-morning urine is most concentrated.
