I hope this is the right place to put this...seemed to make the most sense to me anyways.
Anyways, my endo was diagnosed when I was 18 via laparoscopy but nothing was done for it during the surgery (i.e. no removal). Anyways, I'm almost 27 now and I'm having a rough go these last few months. I was piggy-backing BC pills (did that for seven years) but I found my periods were so painful when I got them, I decided to try going the natural route. My periods were less painful but still really heavy and really close together.
I got severely anemic (as in blood transfusion anemic) and now I have to have weekly iron shots which really hurt just to try and get me functioning again.
Anyways, my blood levels weren't going up despite the iron and I got really sick over the weekend and went to the hospital, where they found evidence of some internal GI bleeding. I'm scheduled for further investigation, but they are pretty certain it's nothing local like fissures or hemmorhoids. I'm wondering if the endo has spread to the bowel...so I'm looking for people with similar experiences.
All they are doing to start is a sigmoidoscopy, and I'm not even sure if that can diagnose it if it's spread to the bowel. All I know is that if I'm bleeding from somewhere we need to find it because I can't lose any more blood.
Thanks!
