Hello there, For the 3rd consecutive period, I'm finding that bleeding is not happening normally and there is a problem with bowel emptying, too. I have an inkling that my uterus is stuck backwards again (after having been unstuck from its retroverted position due to endo with adhesions 18 months ago). I'm having to manually empty the bowel (I know, too much information!) and simultaneously I have a major bleeding accident in the process, since the blood can then flow out, having previously been stuck in the cervix/top of vagina, I think. I'm not using tampons (as I can't) and having to change my knicks, pads and clean myself up rather too often. Meanwhile, I'll have to eat more fruit and veg to try to stop the bowel being bunged up more than necessary. What on earth is going on? Does anyone else deal with the same, rather undignified situation?

How do you manually empty the bowel? You mean by pushing and straining?
I'd try psyllium husk fiber. It has worked wonders for my endo-related bowel problems.
Can you go for another lap?

Very apt description, Jules. Thanks Another lap? Well, I guess that's a consideration, once I have found a specialist. My previous surgeon was out of his depth. Will give the psyllium husk a try. I did use lactulose at one point when on large quantities of opiate based meds, but that's off the cards now with the lactose intolerance, I think.

You might try some probiotics with that as well.

I can totally relate to this. I too have to manually empty myself. The endo on my bowels has made me constipated all the time. Due to this, I ended up with a rectocele. I have recently made a huge dietary change, which helps with the constipation somewhat, but I am still having trouble having a bowel movement naturally. I am looking at having surgery at the CEC in Atlanta soon and am hoping they will be able to fix the rectocele at the same time. In the meantime, Kegels, Kegels, Kegels....

I still don't understand the "manually" thing. You guys have to stick a finger up into the colon and "dig" out the feces? I'm not poking fun. I'm seriously curious.

In my case when I try to have a bowel movement, the rectal wall bulges into my vagina. I need to press against the lower back wall of my vagina in order to redirect the stool.

Oh gosh, that sure is a LOT to deal with! You women are heroic!
I definatelt second pysilium husk, my mum swears by it and me and my bf both now take it (as we both have family history of bowel cancer) the best part it is has no additives or anything nasty which could make problems worse.
I really hope you find something to improve things for you!!

i cant stress the importance of getting drs to act quickly when there are signs of bowel involvement with endo. when are you seeing a dr about it PD if its as bad as what you r saying I cant imagine why they wouldnt look into surgery.
