Well I just had my first lap and they have discovered I have advanced, Stage 2 lap. I'm still not entirely sure what means but the doc will explain it to me in a couple of weeks. My biggest concern at the moment is a pain I have that is front and center. Just underneath the center of my boobs. It makes it difficult to cough. Is this normal? I'm guessing it's a combination of the CO2 gas and the breathing tube.
Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!!

I'm not a doctor, but I also just had a lap and have the same pain, and I'm pretty sure it's only the gas. It's normal. If you're really concerned, call your doctor. Otherwise, here's what helped me:
- Lying down - drinking peppermint tea or just warm water - heating pad applied to my shoulder whenever the pain migrated there.
Don't worry about it. Just rest and take care of yourself.

This sounds quite similiar to the pain i had afterwards as well, i had a lot of trouble getting rid of the excess gas, so the pain lasted a few days. For me lying down made it worse so i made sure i stayed upright, sitting on the couch, warm showers helped, as did the heat bag. After a few days i had some coke, and i know a lot of you are opposed to coke, but it REALLY helped me to get all that gas out! It got me started burping, haha, and within hours i felt so much better!
So yes it does sound quite normal what you're experiencing, but as always if you're really worried about it, just call your doctor/the hospital you went to, i've found that they're always happy to chat and make sure that you're ok. Good luck, i hope it subsides soon!
