Hello all! I was suppose to have surgery in January, but there were some insurance things going on and my surgery is now scheduled for the 7th. I really could use some advice because I am very confused.
My doctor that did my last lap in december 05 said that she found endo on my ovary and a couple of other spots and took a tissue sample from the "culdesac". The tissue sample from the culdesac came back negative for endo. She showed me on the pictures where she found the endo other places, just a very small ammount but still there.
My doctor just retired and I found a new doctor and requested that another lap be done because I was/am feeling the same way as I was the last time. He told me just yesterday during my pre op appointment that he was looking at my chart and the last endo results were negative but hopefully he can find something this time around.
*Confusion*
I called the first doc's office that did it in 05 and asked them what the chart said and she had only biopsied the tissue in the culdesac area, not the other pieces removed. Now I am nervous to go through with another lap, (even though I am in pain) that they may not find anything.
Any suggestions? Also, I was also wanting to know if anyone with endo has pushed on their pelvic region by your ovaries and uterus and had it hurt pushing??? Thanks for all your help!!
Kelsey

Oh yeah, I know that pain all too well. Even with my ultrasound, or any other doctor gently examining my tummy i feel like screaming sometimes! I think it's common with endo, that you can be very tender due to inflammation etc I think everyone has been nervy about the lap bringing up nothing, I was scared that I was gonna be seen as a hypochondriac cos although the pain was really bad I convinced myself to ignore it as it must be normal. Hope you get some definite answers from this lap Kelsey! Hugs xx

Hi Kelsey, Sorry to hear your so confused I'm in the same boat right now actually. I was diagnosed when I was 17, but Ive switched doctors since and my chart got lost along the way. I have another Lap scheduled on Monday (getting really nervous now) and my new Doc just keeps saying IF he finds endo! With the pain your feeling, definitly keep our appointment, hopefully you'll get some answers. -Melissa

Hi ladies! I've had 3 laps done to date and am waiting for my 4th date to be scheduled. I find that doctors always say IF because if they do go in there and find that its actually something else causing your issues and they've told you forsure they'd find something, they would be in a heck of a lot of trouble. I'm not sure where your from, but where I live people sue doctors for anything they can!
I have to say too that even though I've already been through a few times, its never any less nerve racking to finally know whats going on in there. My last lap showed only scar tissue with no endo. I was still feeling the tender tummy too as you described, just had an ultrasound done and sure enough - there sits a huge blood filled cyst on my ovary.
The good thing about the lap is that atleast you'll know forsure whats going on. If its not endo causing the pain then its something else, and that will be your que to start down another road of possiblities. Atleast thats how I always planned to handle things.
I hope this helps a bit! please keep us posted on what they find! Goodluck!

Oh. I actually meant writing the process of your lap, you know, A-Z. You don't have to do it now, but when you've recovered, if you wouldn't mind adding it to the stories, I think it would be a really nice addition.
