hello ladies....i feel like i can never give enough answers to people on these boards, so forgive me for posting so many questions! First-- I had been having that sharp pain above my belly button for a couple of weeks. Went at got abdominal ultrasound and blood work. The ultrasound came back okay on my gallbladder so far....haven't actually spoken to the doctor about the results yet, they just sent me a card. Now for the past 6 days, i have been feeling really nauseas, dizzy like and just weak all around. oh, and like my blood is boiling but they may just be the hot flashes I have also been have more probs than usual as far as having a bowel movement. I haven't had a normal one in probably a week in a half. Took some stool softeners to see if that would help but hasn't so far. I was reading up and the intestinal obstruction came up when I put in my symptoms....Just wondering if anyone has any expierence with this. ALSO.... does anyone have suggestions on how we are supposed to eat healthy and organic when all the prices of everything are going up??!! That is a major problem for me right now. My car just broke down so I have to fix that...just a bunch at one time it seems like. But suggestions are def welcomed here!! thanks as always

Hmmm... about your pain. I haven't the faintest. I will be looking forward to your dx. Hopefully they'll actually give you one.
If you have any farmers markets, they are usually the best places to go for cheaper, organic produce.

i was hospitalised for a bowel obstuction in November last year. i can tell you now the pain is the worst i have ever had in my life and surgery was scheduled if nothing improved. i was on continuous pethadine and other strong pain meds and to kepe the pain at bay. i was vomiting, and the pain was out of this world.

well the pain isn't as bad as i had with the endo cramping...it is just unfamiliar pain, to where i am not sure what is causing it. so many different conditions in the stupid midsection area that it drives me crazy! i always feel bloated no matter what i eat, which in turn makes me feel like i am 6 months prego and always seem to have a little bump on my tummy like i am prego! (but i am not, it is not possible without sex) so it is just frustrating....

I just wanted to say that I just had bowel obstruction surgery May 05 and the pain I was in was the worst thing in my life. By the time the doctors found out what it was I was rushed in to surgery because my bowels were about to burst. I do not know if that is what you have, but I vomited and had these hiccups that would not go away. I also could not have a bowel movement and the stabbing pain between my belly button and chest was unbearable. I would definatley keep a close eye on it because it is no fun going through the surgery. Good Luck!
;D

I completely agree, the bowel obstruction pain was probably the worst pain ive ever been in i think. Its like nothing else and at one point while i was rolling around and crawling ont he floor i was contemplating stabbing myself. i literally couldnt stand up.

i didn't necessarily have a bowel obstruction, but my left ovary was attached to my bowels making it difficult for me to go to the bathroom. I would have to drink a whole bottle of laxatives before i could go and the worst thing... TWO GI doctors brushed me off and told me that i needed to change my diet. a-holes. anyways, i had a lot of pain while "trying" to go, i felt sick and nausea from not being able to go, i felt run down as well. I was insanely bloated, looked at least 6 mo preggers. I went to the ER because i hadn't pooped in two weeks and they sent me home with MIRALAX!!!!!!!!!!! they did a cat scan and everything came back fine they said " yep you're full of stool alright" dumb arses. The ER doctor called back the next morning stating the person who read my Cat scan didnt know what they were doing and thought they saw a shadow where my appendix would be and they wanted me to come back. I said, eh no.. its not my appendix ( turned out to be a hernia) none the less... you need something to make you GO! i think i have about 3948534098 different types of stool softeners and laxatives in my med. cabinet. I found that drinking a whole bottle of milk of magnesia ( kind of chalky tasting) and then drinking LOTS of water was the only thing that would work. Stool softeners, enemas, mineral oil, collerectal, miralax.. none of that stuff worked. Take more than the recommended dose for the laxatives, do it on a weekend where you have the time to be in the bathroom all day. Buy some wet wipes b/c your bottom WILL HURT! Good luck! let us know how you're feeling

oh as far as the organic diet thing, try local markets. Stay away from beef, i think it the US its illegal to give chickens "hormones" but i havent really looked that up. Try and stay away from processed foods that are high in fat and gross stuff. Eat veggies that dont grow in the ground and fruit with thicker skins ( makes more difficult for pesticides to get in) i read that somewhere.. but not sure if it is true again...
