I was refered to a Dr.of Osteopathy last week. I made an appointment for next week. I did talk to the Dr. a few minutes and she explained she would be treating my endo as a whole body. She was going to use accupuncture, diet, and exericse to help me ;D. This is exactly what I was looking for. She also made a comment that she has had a lot of success with gyn. problems. ;D Has any one ever seen this type of Dr. before and if so did it help?

I have, but not from endo. I had one who worked on my knee problems and sent me to a physical therapist who really helped me. I liked him a lot!

She said she is a licensed accupuncturist so I dont think she will need to refer me to anyone else.
Maybe if I like her and things seem to work I can cancel my pain managment appointment for June.

Hey Tiff, congrats on your little one!
I started acupuncture in desperation in Jan 2007 and had an intensive 3 months of treatment with her. The first month, I had weekly treatments of acupunture (one hour per time) as well as a herbal prescription (tablet form). In the second and third months, I had treatments once every two weeks, as well as the herbal tablets. I was amazed at the results and all my pain, uti's, fatigue, ovulation pain, everything really cleared up one by one. Also the bowels which were dodgy cleared up too. I now have once a month treatments as a personal choice in order to maintain the status quo and am very happy with the results.
I was also advised by her on diet, organic etc and that helped alot. I have also learned that I have to deal with stress beter, identify what is worrying me and either walk/run it off as stress for me is a big problem.
I also take 500mg of evening primrose (it was 1000mg when I was in pain) and a very big multi vit which is excellent. I just feel very healthy now and had my first cold in 18 months in feb this year which was amazing as I used to get everything going before this.
Oh, and I also have non-bleached sanitary towels - which are also made from organic cotton (would you believe it). Not quite brave enough to go down the whole cloth menstrual pads route yet but you never know.

Thanks she is my miracle and our dream come true.
I did acupuncture once 2 weeks before I found out I was preggers and i feel that is why I ended up pregnant. I am looking forward to my appointment on Friday and hope that she can give me better advice and options then my other Dr.s
I will make sure to update you on my appointment this Friday. I am excited about getting diet and exercise help... No dr. has ever recommended specific exercise or diet, I have only heard aboutt it through this board.
I am so glad to hear minnie that acupuncture and herbs have worked for you, It gives me a lot of hope.
I too deal with major stress and anxiety and need to find other ways to deal with it... Maybe I should bring it up to the Osteopathy Dr. That way she can also advise me in this area as well.

Alright so I said I would post an update of my appointment.
She was amazing! I loved that she treated me as an equal and really paid attention to what I was saying and what my hopes were in seeing her. She went over a few diet options and made some suggestion in small steps I can take to slowly get my diet where she wants it (instead of just jumping in and more than likely falling off) She did a few messages techniques, took my pulse (my pulse was irregular), and then did some acupuncture to see how my body took to it.
My next visit in a week, she will do a more thorough and full acupuncture session. This one was just a trial type thing just to see how my body reacted.
She also taped a few magnets to certain points of my body and sent me home with them still on. They just fell off, three days later.
I am very optimistic about her and hope that the treatment works for me.

Yeah! I did acupuncture (with herbs) for about 10 months. I found that it made my cycle much better in terms the color and the remaining pain (I was down to one day after my visit to Clear Passage). I would have continued to go but it was getting pricey and I was told I would be physically where I should be in about 8 months.

tmichelle yes It is very pricy but luckily for me the acupuncturist/Dr. of Osteopathy I am seeing is covered on my insurance so what I have to pay is affordable. Do you have health insurance? If you do you might want to check with them to see it they cover any acupuncturists in your area. Up-date: I had my third appointment with her yesterday. I have been going once a week for now and have already noticed a difference. I was having discomfort every day and as of last weeks appointment I had very few days with discomfort. I have not had a period since seeing her yet so in comparison to mentrual cycle pain I don't know if that has changed. Besides Japanese acupuncture, a clean diet, and exercises she has not done much else. She did tell me yesterday that in 2 weeks she is going to start incorporating moxa into my treatment. She is slowly changing treatment with me every week as she sees my body reacting to it. I am still very excited and hopeful it will work. finally I am getting encouraged about this disease in a way i never have before. Oh on a side note my energy levels and anxiety has also started getting better.

OK well again I feel it is time for another up-date: I started getting more intense discomfort on Friday and by Monday I had started my period. I was pretty uncomfortable Monday but it did not seem nearly as bad as it was before Is started seeing this Dr. By Monday night though I was in intense pain and ended up passing a clot the size of a key lime (sorry TMI) then by Tuesday I was so heavy that I was going through my protection every 20-30 minutes. So just to sum things up, my period has def. not gotten better. I am very discouraged now and I know I should continue seeing her because I have only been going a short while but after this period it is hard to think it could work. I will try it out a little longer at least until my appointment at the pain management clinic. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Just keep going Tiff. How long have you been seeing her now? They generally ask that you commit to 90 days - i.e. 3 cycles.
Does she give you herbal treatment too? My cycles have been getting longer and longer, up to 36 days at the longest and have been experiencing some pain again, so my acupuncturist has put me back to two treatments per month and gave me herbal tablets again which after only 12 days of taking them has brought my cycle back down by 3 days. We are going to continue on with this treatment option until I am back at 28 days (which I always was before). I have also started doing more exercise which I find very helpful and keeps me pain free!

Thank you minnie, with your push I will be going back to her probably on Friday. I have seen her for 1 1/2 cycles and was going every week. I got discouraged and did not go last week but I will be going back this week. No she has done given my herbs of any kind (teas, tablets, nothing) I have been exercising more so hopefully that help me too.
