So I know I posed the melanoma question before, and I don't think anybody replied affirmative (which is good!). But I have to do it again! There was some big endo meeting in Australia recently, which I'm sure you are aware. And the correlation of melanoma and endo came up. See this article: www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23374175-29277,00.html And if anyone has anything to add I'd be interested! I had a malignant melanoma removed in Fall of 06. I take after my mom's Italian side - olive skin, tan easy/fine. Not my Dad's Irish side.

Wow... I never heard this before. On March 12 I has a biopsy done and a mole removed. it came back melanoma with cell activity. I also had a similar one removed about 6 years ago that was said to be melanoma as well. If this is true I would really like to know

I find it very intriging too - but noone else on this site seems to be affected - or maybe hasn't noticed my post. I'm also on another Endo listserv and many people have replied. A common thread seems to be fair skin and possibly reddish/blond hair. Again, I've never noticed any thread on this site about that kind of coloring. I, however, have olive skin and brown hair and have no family history of endo or melanoma (though I don't know my dad's Irish/German side of the family).

Well the description of those suseptable in the article fits me perfectly. I have reddish blonde hair, very fair skinned, and a lot of freckles.
