Yah. That was really wrong of her to just assume that was what was wrong with you!!!! Sorry. I couldn't type more earlier. I'd get a second opinion. I guess she's already given you the antibiotics, but dont' take her word as golden. If you haven't had an STD (mainly gonorrhea or chlamydia) and have been checked for them (even in a monogamous relationship), then you probably didn't have PID. From what I've read, endometriosis pain is commonly mistaken for PID.
Heads up. Hugs.

Ive heard the same that endo and pid are sometimes mixed up when diagnosed but they definitely saw something on my fallopian tubes which indicated some sort of abscess. i asked her if was related to endo and she said no....i guess i just need to wait for the results of all the cultures that were done...
I was on a website last night(webmd) that said how 90% of all cases were related to an std plus the comb of her question just made me nuts...let me add my hubby is the only man i have been intimate with soooooo I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from...

Nah. I totally understand. My husband is also the only one I've ever been with, so I'd be pissed, too. However, I've read conflicting reports and do realize that it is extremely remote, but I have personally known a little girl who contracted gonorrhea from sitting on a toilet. There was gooey stuff on the toilet ( you can only guess what that gooey stuff was!), and a few days later when her mom was washing her in the tub, she realized a lesion. It came back + for gonorrhea. When I go in for my yearly pap, I always request cultures, even though I know I'm in a monogomous relationship.

I was originally diagnosed with PID, too, even though my husband is my only partner (ever), and he has never had any STDs. Very frustrating, especially since the ER doc didn't believe I've only had one partner! THE NERVE!
Anyway, watch out for digestive problems after all those antibiotics--eating yogurt or taking acidophilus can help prevent colitis. I didn't know that at first and lost 10 lbs in a week from colitis, which made me very weak and aggravated the endo pain.
