I have trouble walking, it is the worst thing i can do for the pain. It debilitates me if i try, i can walk a little in need if i take drugs first, but its rarely worth it.
I havent put on weight from it, but in saying that, i often eat very little. The nausea i get coz of the pain has diminished my appetite, badly, so eating has become a chore.
I do yoga, which has helped keep my body in a bit of shape, but because im limited with pain, i dont have the tone i should.
But yeah i understand, how do you get the exercise you need when it causes so much pain. Yoga is all i can do, and it is very gentle. I have considered taking up swimming, thinking the lack of gravity might mean it doesnt aggravate the pain, but the fatigue stops me from including that.

I understand what you mean about the weight issue as I too put on almost 50lbs over a few years mostly due to endo. I found that sometimes I would actually comfort eat after I had extreme pain as well as not being able to exercise the way I used to.
But last October I joined a slimming club and thankfully I have been able to get most weeks (there have been some because of pain that I haven't) but I have lost almost 30lbs. I find on the days that my pain if more 'bearable' if I walk it sometimes helps even just at a slow pace. I love to get outdoors and when the pain is too much and I end up in bed it really gets to me.

I also gained about 80 pounds when my endo was at its worst; however, I also had other situations and hormonal disorders going on. You can lose it, though. I did! It will seem hard, but you just have to get your mind in the right frame. It will seem overwhelming to loose all of that. Don't look at it is an exercise or diet--look at it as a lifestyle change and getting healthy. That probably makes me sound like I'm too optimistic. Trust me, though, if you knew me, you would see I am very pessimistic. If I can do it, I think anyone can!

I've also gained a lot of weight... pretty close to 60lbs now. Its funny, I was just sitting and thinking this morning, if I am now on bed rest for the next couple months, how much fatter am I going to be?? Walking even up the stairs here is a chore for me... I don't feel I have the energy to do anything. Even having a shower drains me. I haven't been eating much though since I'm pretty nauseous all the time. I would like to plan to 'get healthy' but I feel that I need to wait until after all this surgery stuff is over since I am to be resting right now... I can only hope I stay the same size if anything. But that in itself is something that totally adds to the depression, thats forsure.

Yah. Probably better to wait until after your surgery. I lost my weight with Pilates, since it was low-impact and I coudl still do it w/ my knee problems.

Humm. Probably Natural Treatments. I'm not sure, though. I'd put it in Natural Treatments.
