Hi all! I am really hoping that someone can explain to me why there are so many of us that have heard that exact quote after having surgery!!!
If you are being booked in to have a lap done that includes the removal of any endometriosis found, then why is that so many of us come out of there with them saying 'oh well I saw it here but I couldn't get at it all so we may need to schedule another lap in the near future'. WHAT IS WITH THAT?? It is SO frustrating to me! Is it cause they ran out of time? or they didn't have the proper tools? or they just didn't want to??
Help me understand... I just feel that if I come out of my surgery and hear that I'd probably lose it!!

Depending on the location, the doctor performing the lap may not feel comfortable with trying to remove the endo himself (for risk of damaging other organs).
I was lucky to have a doctor who was also skilled in endo of the bowels, so he was able to handle the whole thing. Some doctors won't even touch the bowels, though.
Just make sure your doctor is skilled in removing endo from anywhere. If not, find another one so you dont' have to have yet another surgery. Or, if he's not confident in removing something like endo from the bowels, have a bowel surgeon present during the lap as well.

Apparently she is the best in my city for lazer laps, so I'm hoping that she will be able to handle everything since there would be no one better I could turn to. Maybe its something worth mentioning or asking her about pre-op???

Definitely mention it pre-op. I think most are scared to operate on the bowels, so find out if she is comfortable with that one for sure. Just ask her if there are any areas where she doesn't feel comfortable operating herself.
