My sister called me today to let me know MY gynecologist sent HER a letter. Now, the only reason my gyne would send her a letter (since we have different health card numbers, and also live in different cities, albeit we have the same birthday) is if my old doctor's office sent them HER file! Aaaagh! I'm sooooo annoyed! How incompetent can one office be? ? If I made that big a screw up, I would be fired! Anyhow, the reason for the letter? My appointment is being pushed back until April 18! It is originally booked for February 16th, and I've had the appointment since NOVEMBER! I shall be calling my old doctor's office and giving them hell, the gyne office to give them hell, and then the College of Physicians to complain. My new doctor is great---thank the GODS I have an appointment with her tomorrow!

That would tick me off majorly, too!!!!! I don't know what I'd be more upset about, either--the incompetent snafu at the doc.'s office or the rescheduling and having to wait 3 extra months! Sorry you have to deal w/ all this b.s.!!! Keep us posted on whatever winds up happening! I hope they can move you forward. By the way, was this for a lap?

Nope, not for a lap, just my first specialist appointment. Argh!
My sis is going to call my doctor's office and give them hell, too!

WOW! because thats not a breach in patient confidentiality (insert sarcasm here)! Thats horrible, im sorry you have to wait another few months for your appointment, its hard enough gearing yourself up, but to have to rebook time off work and rides etc...thats horrid Sorry for typing in circles, but im just soo shocked! Im wishing you the best... -Melissa

I fell on ice today on the way to work, so I ended up calling in (turns out my knee is just bruised)--and my manager wants a doctor's note! How retarded is that? Luckily I had an appointment this afternoon. But the day off (with ice on my knee all day...LOL), gave me time to do some calling around.
Well, apparently ALL of my gyne's patients are pushed back for their appointments. I called my old doc's office about the "mix up" and they said they would "look into it". I was annoyed, but they hung up on me while ranting, saying "Ok, we'll look into it."
I went to my doc, and she gave me some tramacet for the pain, quinine pills for the leg cramps, and some meds for my hiatus hernia (which is acting up because of stress). I also got my doctor's note.
And as I was posting this, my boss called to see if I was coming in tomorrow. Isn't that against the law? She was acting all suspicious because I didn't answer the phone (I was at the doctor's! stupid....*****).
I'm so tired of all this.

When I used to work at this awful day care, my boss called me one evening after I had been home sick all day and asked if I would be coming in the next day. I told her I didn't much think so because I was pretty sure I had the flu, and she said, "Yes that probably is what you have. I know you might not feel like coming in at your usualy time tomorrow but do you think you could come an hour or so later?" I was so shocked I just told her I'd give her a call in the morning. I went to the doctor later taht evening and I definitely had the flu. I can't believe she was trying to pressure me to come in when I was so sick I couldn't even sit up, and she wanted me to expose all the little kids! That's the way she always was when people were sick--"Well the kids are going to get it anyway." The parents all thought she was a good director too. If only they'd known!
