So, I have a shower radio and habitually turn it on while I'm in the shower. Most of the time I forget it is even on and wind up forgetting to turn it off. Half of the time it doesn't even pick up the signal--it is not digital. Anyway, this morning I was taking a quick shower to wake myself up, when I heard the morning show D.J.'s discussing Nicole Richie's recent arrest for driving the wrong way on some big highway in L.A. Apparently, she was high on Vicodin, for which she was apparently given the prescription for menstrual cramps! ..could she have endo???
Anyway, the female D.J. pissed me off. She said something like, "Who the HELL gets a prescription of Vicodin for menstrual cramps?!? Something must be really wrong with her vagina if she needs vicodin for cramps!" Thanks to the listeners w/ endo out there, people started calling in, talking about how they have endometriosis and take Vicodin to prevent a trip to the E.R., where they are given Morphine--even stronger than Vicodin. In the end, I still felt that the female D.J. thought it was a bunch of hooey, and she obviously didn't believe that anyone could have cramps that would warrant Vicodin. I do think, however, that if Nicole Richie does have endo or something for which she needs Vicodin to control the pain, she should NOT be getting on a big street in L.A. and trying to drive!
Oh yah!!! The woman D. J. started picking on one of the women w/ endo who called in. She rudely said something about "Why would you want to live like that? Why don't you just get a hysterectomy and get it over with? ...So, you're just going to live like this until menopause?!?" I was highly displeased w/ this D.J. for showing her ignorance!
