I had my TVS today and I was expecting it to be the same on the pain scale as a pelvic exam. I was soooo wrong. I'm still in pain now. It got so bad at one point the woman doing it asked me if I wanted her to stop but I made it through. I'm not sure what to expect though from this. I definitely felt more pain and pressure when she was on the left side than the right side. Im hoping that they find something that will prompt them to do the lap.

Wow, good luck with that. Fortunately no one has every suggested I have a transvaginal ultrasound. If they did I'd probably try to worm my way out of it because it sounds excruciating. I didn't think anything could be WORSE than exams. On the rare occasions when I have had exams, I have been in pain the rest of the day. Two of the three people who have attempted exams on me while I was conscious gave up because it was too painful. The other woman, (a nurse practitioner in the gynecology department) was basically just so determined that I think she would have done it even if I'd passed out in the middle. I hope something useful shows up from your ultrasound.

Sorry you were in so much pain! I also had more pain w/ my trans-vaginal ultrasound on the left than on the right. The ultrasound didn't show anything abnormal, but then when I had my lap, my colon was all tacked over to the pelvic wall. EEEEK! I was glad to have it lasered free!!! Helped SO much w/ the pain!

I had my transvaginal ultrasound yesterday and I am quite happy since it was not as painful as the last one, actually it was almost pain free!! I did have some "cramping" afterward but it could be probably because of all the water you have to drink!. I am seeing my specialist in Nov since I still have the pain on my side but I notice that the pain increased during the test but not that much so I am not sure if it could be a cyst or maybe endo on my appendix. Las time they found a lot of chocolate cysts on both ovaries but during my lap they found endo all over the place. I'll keep you posted.

I had a transvaginal u/s this summer because I was having some pain again for about a week. He found a small no big deal cyst, gave me some pain meds and it cleared up. I was just going to add it was HORRIBLY painful. The u/s tech actually yelled at me to breathe normal so she could see, oh I'm sorry how about I shove a hot poker up your hoohah and then put pressure on your tummy think you could breath normal. BIATCH!
