Sorry I haven't posted sooner. I actually joined this site a month or so ago and just have been out of the loop. I am a biological mother of 3 and step mom of 3 more. In Sept '02 I gave birth to my youngest. From there the pain became extreme. I had all sorts of tests run, Sono, MRI, all sorts of exams, etc. You all know the routine. Nothing was able to be found. I started doing my research and everything pointed at Endo. I brought it to my primary doc's attention and asked of the possibility. He said yes and referred me back to gyn once again with that information. I was straight forward with the gyn and said..."I feel I need a Lap" and I said that since that was the only way to diagnose Endo.
Surgery was scheduled and all that good stuff. I also said and made it written on paper that I was NOT to be treated with anything other than continual BCP's IF endo was found to be the problem. I did not want any injections of Lupron, depo etc.
Well, the out come of that surgery was that the surgeon said to my husband and I, that I had endo on the underside of my left ovary and tube and all along that blood vessel in my pelvis. She said that because it was so close to that major vessel she did not remove any of the endo. I was put on continual bcp's and pain killers as needed.
Here it is 2006 and I finally got tired of my pain steadily increasing. Nothing seemed to work, and my husband and I were in agreement that if I needed a bilateral oophenrectomy to relieve my pain, then hey. Fine. At this point, where as in the beginning my pain was solely on the left side in the area of my ovary and tube, now I have it on my right side as well. Obviously I figured it was spreading. Only makes sense to assume that right?
What I am going to tell you next may confuse you as it did us.
I had another lap on the 1st of November. My doc came back WITH PICS and said, hey you don't have endo. There is none nowhere! She said that the only thing that she saw was that I have pelvic congestion. That my vessels are quite swollen. And that was that. Now I am not on the BCP's, they didn't very well anyway, and the only thing that I can do is take pain meds as needed.
So now, the hubby and I are totally confused, lost and not sure about much of anything anymore. There you have it. This is my story. Do I have endo? Yes? No? I really don't know, but for now, I am gonna stay here with the endo board. Thanks for having me.
