I have never had a lap but since i got my period over 15 yrs ago i was told i had endo. The pain got worse after having my child 3 yrs ago. Cysts are not going away and the pain in my rectum is not getting better. The doctor I went to is an endo specialist. He feels that my three ca125 test go along with a diagnosis for endo plus the fact that he can feel my ovary attached to the bowel. I know that unless he goes in to know for sure nothing is certain, but i know myself this is exactly what i thought. I have had bowel surgery when i was 10 so he says that the risks are greater to do a lap. If they were to go in there is a good chance that my bowel would have to be resected and my uterus taken. I am not sure what to do. He also promotes chi kung or something like that (meditation) and a good diet. I have changed my whole diet plus quit smoking a year ago and no change. My bowel pains are getting worse. I do have a colonoscopy in Jan to rule out colitis and cohrns which i believe i dont have. I have no major symptoms, but it runs in my family. I feel sick two weeks a month eventhough i am on marvelon 21 with no period now for 4 months. I am not sure what to do
any advice would be greatly appreciated. Should I have the surgery even with the risks? What should i expect with a bowel resection?
