Hi, My name is Julie and I am 23. I found this site while searching for alternative medicines for the pain i experience every month. Last December I experienced my worst period ever. I started my period at 11 and always had debilitating cramps, pain through my legs and lower back. I always found myself curled up in a bawl crying my brains out with a heating pad. Naturally, my parents didn't think much of it and thought i just had a low pain tolerance. I've been on and off birth control since i was 16. It wasnt until last december that my pains became unusual. My left side was in pain constantly, walking, lifting, sitting, standing.. whatever i did it hurt. ( by left side i mean my left ovary) I finally went to the doctor where they did a internal ultrasound and found what they thought to be a dermoid. I had surgery three days later... christmas eve. It wasnt a dermoid. It was a hemorratic cyst in my left ovary that was bleeding out. My ovary and my fallopine tube were stuck to my pelvic wall and there was mass amounts of scar tissue. My doctor, a well known fertility specialist didn't think to send a biopsy and didnt "think" i had endo. He removed all the scar tissue and sent me home with pain killers. So here I am. I get cysts in my left ovary every month ( which i guess is normal) but they don't go away like they should when my period is over. This is when it gets worse. After my period... i drug myself. The third doctor I went to because of my supposive re-occurant infections he said they probably werent infections, but syptoms of being "irritated" yeah im irritated alright!! So i now use baby laundry detergant and a special kind of soap and so on.... Oh what fun. This doctor read the reports from my surgery and found it amazing that my surgen didnt diagnose me with endo. Every month I am not my "normal" self for about 2 weeks or no. I find myself not being able to do things because im worried about the pain. and it's pretty much taken over my life. I have just started on the organic diet and my pain for this month was much shorter lasting than the last. If this doesnt work... my last option is removing my ovary. The surgery doctor suggested Lupron, but after reading the side effects and other message boards it terrified me and I will not do it. Does anyone have problems with their ovaries like I do? Im not sure if its the endo that causes the hemorratic cysts or if i have bad eggs.... any input would be great. Once i found this site i cried b/c i found people that actually know what its like to named, lazy and told to just suck it up, the pain can't be that bad. This is a great place and Im thankful for it.
