Hello all you wonderful ladies...
here is my story-
Since I got my period at age 13 I have suffered from severe cramps, bloating, heavy long periods, etc. At age 15 my dad took me in to the doctor who concluded I had an ulcer. This was without doing any sort of thorough exam. So I accepted my heavy periods, my pain, and my digestive issues which kept me bloated 85 % of the time. I suffered from all candida symptoms including allergies, chronic fatigue and depression from before I cam remember.
In my mid 20's I started having sharp shooting pains in my pelvis, my stomach, my mid and lower back, in the liver and kidney area. it would happen after sex, or after a night out, or just bloody because...
I finally went to the ER one day when the pain was not subsiding and the lovely doctor spent a total of two minutes with me and dignosed me "constipated".
Gee, thanks.
about 6 months later, feeling great, doing yoga before work, the pain came and it was stupendous, horrifying, mind blowing. I got myself to the ER, they did an ultrasound, found a large cysyt on my ovary, that took me to a ob/gyn who put me on the pill for a month to see if the cyst would go down. It doubled in size, he said most lilely it is endo, and we scheduled my first laparoscopy. The lap proved right, he took out all of what he found and they put me on Lupron for what was supposed to be 6 mos, but after 3 months of hot flashes, insanity, etc., I got back on the pill. I opted to have my period even though he told me best to not have it at all and also to get pregnant, not a feasible or practical option.
So I actually felt pretty good for a couple years after that except for alot of digestive stuff, most of the foods on the no-no list are the things I love: wine, chocolate, pasta, etc.
And then this March, pain came back, sharp, scary, sh*tty pain, and there have been a few heavy attacks. An ultrasound a month and a half ago found two large cysts on each ovary, but I feel the pain all over, in my breasts, all over my bowels, lower back, hips, etc.
The one from last week was when I was visiting my beau who lives abroad. Heavy pains, sharp pains, then when they calmed down, all the pain moved up and I had a huge amount of gas caught in my stomach. Very uncomfortable, painful to touch, and then woke in the middle of the night with high fever and threw up twice. that has never happened...
So I found this site and to hear everyone's experiences makes me so sad, so angry, so confused, but I am also trying to focus on stories of symptom free ladies, of diet and holistic medicine, acupuncture, etc. I am extremely grateful to now get this information, to have a broader view of what this disease is about, and the different treatments and attitudes we can take.
I have lots of questions, and hope to share positive experiences in the near future by affect of all thye good changes I will be making...
lots of luck and healing to all of you
