Hi everyone, I am a 33yr young single mom, of a great 9yr old boy(my miracle baby)I was diagnosed with endo at 19 with stage 3 endometriosis. I have fought the good fight ever since. I have lost count of how many laps i've had, and right now im at a new low with this condition. Pain is maximum emotions are low. Just got back yesterday from my gyno who is sending me for and ultrasound(of course) and a colonoscapy(that's a new one for me) She fears the endo is in the bowel based on my symptoms. She is talking hysterectomy and bowel resection and for the first time im scared!!I have heard that even after the hysterectmy that the endo can still be a problem so im not convinced its the right thing to do, but 13 yrs later, im tired and want the pain and fatigued to be gone. Done lots of reading on hear and you are all so brave. Hoping to gain some strength here to get through the next couple months. Glad to be here.!! ps forgive the bad spelling..

Hi, mlittlefriend! Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you had a bad case right from the start! Wow! Stage III at 19!! I must say that you are quite a trooper!!! I had a sigmoidoscopy (not nearly as high up as a complete colonoscopy), bc my gynecologist was also scared that the endo had infiltrated my bowel (I have had endo found adhering my sigmoid colon to my pelvic wall during each lap I've had). Luckily, my sigmoidoscopy showed no endo inside my sigmoid colon. I know how freaked out you have to be hearing those words from your doc! I guess one good thing about bowel resection is that the endo is actually cut out and the good portions of the bowel are stitched together. From what I have read, that is the BEST way to get endo to stay away for the longest amount of time! Anyway, welcome to the forum!!!
