Hi Everybody,
Finally found out I have Endo!!
I am 26, and have been having extremely painful periods since the age of 10.
My mother found out she had Endo over 3 years ago, and my Dr. wanted to send me for a laparoscopy straight away. However, my husband and i moved away from home and so I had to find a new Dr.
In my first appointment with my new Dr. I told her all my symptoms,,, The pain during my period, the pain during sex, the heavy bleeding, how tired I always was, and my medical history. She did an exam on me and said,,, "nope you are fine."
I visited my Dr. often to get my pills refilled for my painful periods, and told her that my husband and I are not yet pregnant after even though we have not been using any protection since we moved here in March 2004.
After about a year and a half of complaining to her, I finally went into her office and begged and cried for her to send me to someone. She huffed and puffed, and said "OK" -very unwillingly.
My gyno did some testing and said "You was fine,,, come back to me in the spring if you are not yet pregnant."
March 2006 (Spring starts March 21st right) I made another apt. with her. She put me on blood tests and said I was not ovulating and sent to me a Fertility clinique.
My first fertility apt. was suppose to be Aug 17, however due to a cancellation I got in on June 28. The Dr. asked me some questions and right away said... "I'm send you on a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.... There's a 60% chance you have endo" I then told him about my mother situation. He replied "Your chances double if you have a family member with endo." WOW,,, 120% chance this is what I have??? Actually, I wasn't surprised one bit.
Due to another cancellation I was in the operating room yesterday, July 11.
I have yet to go to the post op, but I asked my nurse if I have anything, she looked at my chart and said "you have endo. stage II"
16 years of pain later, it feels great to know what's wrong with me. I can't wait to stay up in the evenings, I use to sleep for about 3 hours everyday after work, and then go to bed at 11pm, wake up at 6am and be exhausted.
Now,,,, we just have to get this getting pregnant thing all worked out. We have been trying for almost 2.5 years now. We have been together for almost 9 and married for 3.
Thanks for listening, btw, my name is Lynette too,,, but that name was already taken.
