Hi there everyone. I've just found this web site and I think it is fabulous. I've registered and thought I'd introduce myself:
My name is Julie, I'm 35 years old and I'm from London, England. Brief history of my gynae state - About 12years ago periods stopped and ultrasound diagnosed polycystic ovaries. Put on pill to give me 'periods' and make me feel like a woman.
6 years ago had constant pain when urinating. Doc eventually referred me to a gynae who did a laparoscopy and found 'mild' endometriosis at back of uterus which was lasered away. Pain stopped and everything great. Put on pill to suppress endo.
When we wanted to start a family, went back to gynae who did another lap and 'drilled' my ovaries which she hoped would kick start them and alleviate need for Clomid. It did - I got my period the next month and conceived DD the month after that! Periods resumed after I stopped breastfeeding and continued regularly for 2 years when I fell pregnant again at 1st attempt ( I do know I am SO lucky). DS now nearly 1yr old.
3 months ago my periods started getting REALLY heavy and quite painful, and was getting discomfort at ovulation. Also the urine pain began again - the the point that I was preactically screaming every time I went. Urine tests confirmed no infection so referred back to gynae. Had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy last saturday (17th). 'moderate' endo found all over the place this time - including near the bladder. All lasered away. Apparently v successful and everything in there now looks good. However I am STILL having the pain when I wee ( I'm sure 6 years ago this stopped as soon as I had the lap?) Gynae has said this will 'go in time' but it's really getting me down. I've convinced myself something else is really wrong and I wonder do I need to see a urologist? The thought of that makes me have panic attacks. Also it feels v tight 'down there' -kind of like my pelvic floor is permanently clenched. I can relax it if I think about it but then it's tensed up again immediatly . I've not experienced this before and am worried. I do wee a lot but then I do drink a lot of water and also green tea. I don't have any bladder probs ie - no leaking etc.
Oh, should mention that gynae has put me on the pill now to suppress the endo ( she offered the mirena coil but I didn't want it - i did a bit of research but i just can't stand the thought of it. Have been on pill before for endo and get on ok with it)
So basically - a) has anyone else had 'cystitis'-type pain as a sign of endo and did it go immediately after lap or did it take a while? And b) is the 'tight' feeling I have down there normal following a hysteroscopy/laparoscopy? I know this has been a lengthy post but I felt it necessary to give the full history. Thank you for reading.
