Hi everyone. My name is Candy and I'm 29 (tomorrow!)....I have 3 perfect children and a perfect husband ...I live in Kansas City....I was diagnosed with Endo March 2, 2006. I've had it for years though...I endured 3 unneeded surgeries before I switched Dr.'s and had a hysterectomy. I've lived relatively pain free for a few months. I still have bowel problems, abdominal pain, allergies and yeast infections though. My life has changed a lot since my hysterectomy though, I was taking 5 hydrocodone each day just to "live" a normal life. I was searching for a board online, and found this one. Glad to be here, I hope I can find someone to relate to, no one understands!! KC

Hey everyone, ....I think I'll go back to HysterSisters now where people actually reply to my posts. 15 people have read my post, and no response or even welcome.
Thanks anyway.

If you were that interested in becoming part of this forum, wouldn't you have actually taken the time to JOIN the forum? With all the spam we get, it blocks the top 10 recent posts...and I had never even seen your post, and I reply to a lot of them. Sorry if you feel you have to leave, but apparently you didn't even really want to join! And on top of that, how many posts have you read and not replied to???

I thought I did join, I went through registration and did everything I was told in order to join.
You are right, I have read some posts and not replied, but I am new and I did not feel it was right to start giving my opinion on other peoples posts before I was known to be here. Also, I don't know much about the disease so it's hard for me to give input at this point. I'm sorry if I came off as being harsh. That was not my intention.

Hi Candy, I'm sorry no one replied to your post. I'm sure it was an oversight, because people here are very friendly, but they just don't always respond to introductions. Sometimes it's hard to know what to say other than "welcome to the forum," which might or might not have meant a lot to you. If 15 people read your post, it means they were interested in what you had to say. Maybe they just didn't know what to say back. I mean, it was just an introductory post giving background information. I remember reading it right when you first posted it and I felt bad for not knowing what to say to you. You said you wanted someone to relate to, but I've never had a hysterectomy and I don't have a husband or children. I know there are some people on here who have had hysterectomies, but maybe they just didn't get around to replying. If you really want people to talk to you, the best thing to do is just jump right into the conversations. It's a good idea to introduce yourself here so people know your background info and you don't have to repeat it every time you post, but I think a lot of people don't get personal replies to their introductions. You say you don't know a lot about the disease...so go ask some questions! I guarantee people will answer unless you totally stump everyone, which isn't likely. (By the way, it took a really, really long time for anyone to reply to my first ever post on this forum, and I'm still here)

Okay. Sorry if I came off as harsh back! Welcome to the forum. There are several women on here who have had hysterectomies, and one I know for sure hasn't been on the forum so much, because she is feeling soooooooooooo much better that she now works all the time and does activities with her kids. She will sooner-or-later see your post, and I'm sure she will reply to you. Welcome to the forum! If you are having problems with your registration, e-mail the administrator. Her e-mail address is support@endo-resolved.com, and her name is Carolyn. She is very nice and extremely helpful. Good luck with everyting!!!!

THANK YOU....so so much for your replies. I feel like a brat for even starting this whole deal now. I'm going to try again to register....and thanks for the email address if it does not work again. erzulie: thank you for your reply, I will just jump right in! I want to share experiences with others and get to know their experiences too! MissMel: No, I never had a problem conceiving. I had my kids pretty young though...my youngest is 6. After tracing my medical history...after SEVERAL misdiagnoses and 3 unneeded surgeries....I think I've had endo for about 4 years. ouchy: Thank you thank you thank you for coming back to this thread and such a nice reply! I really hope we did not get off on the wrong foot.....my ovaries are failing right now, so my response could have been a hormonal/knee jerk reaction...I apologize for that! I feel utterly welcome now... ...thank you! Candy

Hi there. I just started taking birth control pills on Friday of last week. Hopefully my hormones will get back into shape. I've also started to work out again! It's been 3.5 months since my hysterectomy...so I know I'm ready. That will help improve a lot of my issues! I feel so down in the dumps lately, but I'm sure it's my hormones out of whack.
Endo is not causing me a ton of problems right now, some minor pain here and there.....bowel problems are my worst enemy right now because of endo. Can I have bowel problems without endo ON my bowels? I really don't think I have IBS, but my Dr. said he did not see endo on my bowels.
Thanks for asking how is everyone???

Hi, Candy! Glad you are feeling good enough to start exercising again!!!
I did/do have endo on my bowels; however, my gyn said that from his experience, endometriosis--regardless of whether or not it is on your bowels--can cause IBS-type problems, because once the prostaglandins reach a certain level, inflammation all over, including smooth muscle like the bowels becomes inflamed, leading to IBS-type symptoms. The best thing I have found for my bowel problems is psyllium husk (kinda' like in Metamucil). It works great for me!!!!

Hi Candy,
I don't know whether or not I have endo on my bowels. For months, probably over a year, I used to have a lot of BM pain during my periods. Then the pain just stopped. Now I don't get BM pain anymore. Not so lucky, the pain has simply moved.
I've heard that endo can come and go in certain areas, so maybe that's what happened with me.
But I can definitely see how having endo in one area can cause pain/discomfort elsewhere. If it's pressing up against a nerve or something, it might affect another area. So, maybe my endo didn't dissappear from my bowel. Maybe it was always elsewhere and has grown or moved, and is now not affecting my bowelsl, but another area.
I hope that makes sense.

Welcome Louise! I'm glad you've found us. I understand exactly what you mean, people either think it's not as bad as you say or else they think it's completely the end of the world. It's nice to have a place like this where you really don't have to explain what it's like! I hope you've read about different treatments peopel have tried on here. There is bound to be something that will help you--you don't have to just accept you're going to live your life in pain--and this is a good place to ask others what they've found that helps so you have a better idea what to try. Please feel welcome to take an active part in all conversations, whether you're adding your own comments or asking questions. The more people talk, the more interesting this place will be, and the easier it will be for you to make friends!
