Hi Everyone I'm so happy to have found this site - it's great to feel that I'm not alone. I'm 33 and due for a lap next week to determine if I have endo or not, I was so ignorant about it and thought that if you had endo you had it from beg on menturation. I've never had pain or irregular cycle - it all started a few months ago when I had bleeding mid cycle - my doc thought I was pregnant and my perios didn't arrive for almost 8 weeks, I got such a bad pain in my side that my gyn thought ectopic preg. Once that was ruled out I decided to wait and see but again last week I got mid cycle bleeding and pain in lower left side...we are desperate for children and I'm really scared that my chances are low now. I guess I'll have to wait until after next week to see, my gyn explained the risks assoc with the surgery and I'm really scared but also hopeful that whatever is going wrong with my cycle will be explained - I feel very emotional and really tired from worrying about it...my husband is v supportive but he's afraid to have sex with me now as I seem to bleed afterwards most times...it's upsetting does anyone have any advice? Thanks to you all for being here - it's made me feel better just reading other peoples stories...good luck to you all :-) Angela

Hi angela hope the results from your lap were something positive, the pain and not knowing what it is can be frightening. Let us know how you got on, take care xXx

Hi, angelag. Welcome to the forum! Most often bleeding after sex is caused by an infection, which can be something as simple as an overgrowth of normal, healthy baceteria...part of the vaginal "ecosystem," better known as "flora." This is easily checked with a pH test, a microscope slide, and a culture to rule out other infections. I had that one time, just an overgrowth of normal flora, and it took my begging 3 different doctors and finally finding one in another state who would do this simple test I knew I needed! That little infection caused me bleeding after intercourse just about every time, and a bit of pain. It was easily treated with a round of antibiotics. I don't know much about mid-cycle bleeding when not on the pill. I hope your doc found out what was wrong. Let us know the results of the lap! Best wishes!!!
