Hi everyone! I just recently found this website as I was looking for a support group just like this one. Just decided I would start posting, too. I wanted to say "hi" to Redmoon -- I just read your post and I can relate to your story. I'm certain I have had endo probably since I was a teenager, but I was actually diagnosed last year when I just couldn't take it anymore and I wound up in the ER after having excruciating pelvic pain. They did many tests, including an ultrasound which showed large ovarian cysts on the left side, but after 2 US's, they still cannot see my right ovary. They gyno thinks maybe a huge cyst or perhaps adhesions hiding the ovary. Also my uterus is enlarged (maybe adenomyosis, too). I am 47 and the dr. thought a hysterectomy would be my best option, so they started scheduling everything. This was all a year ago. But then it was cancelled due to my blood pressure remaining high even with meds. Dr. said he wouldn't touch me and sent me back to my primary MD, which my bp has continued to be unstable. So a year ago when the surgery was cancelled, the gyno gave me a Lupron injection and that was a nightmare for me! Do any of you have any experience with that? I know it is very helpful for some, but just not for me. I'm also told that due to my high blood pressure, I will not be a candidate for hormone therapy, which really concerns me because my ovaries will have to be removed, and I can't imagine being without hormones. The Lupron injection gave me a taste of that for 3 months! Ten years ago, when I complained to another gyn about my pelvic pain, I was also told that it was IBS (they didn't do an US) and she just put me on Prozac and fiber! So for the past 10 years, I have mainly suffered in silence because I basically was told that I was "fine" and that "cramps" were normal. Well, it has progressed and I have GOT to get something done! Right now, I basically just take ibuprofen and use a heating pad. I do have a gyn appt on May 9 so I am hoping maybe I will be able to schedule surgery for this summer. I'm interested in finding out more about natural or herbal therapy and would welcome any of your advice! Sorry this is so long, but I'm really happy to be here with y'all and hope everyone is feeling well today.
