Hi ladies. I'm new to this site, but not new to the problem of endomitriosis. By way of history, I was diagnosed last October with severe endo and underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy in January, 2006. The doctor, however, was unable to remove my cervix because it had adhered itself to my rectum with the endo. I now still suffer from severe pain with my bowel movements. I've undergone a colonoscopy, which showed nothing other than the cervix being stuck to the rectum - resulting in pain. My problem now is that my ob/gyn is refusing to keep me on pain meds - despite the fact that a bm renders me in a fetal position crying in pain for 35-40 minutes and this happens 3-4 times ea. day. My main reason for joining this site is I am trying to find out if there is a doctor who specializes in endo in my area - I'm in southeast Michigan (Detroit suburb). I'm also interested in learning how other women are dealing with this problem - especially endo post hysterectomy. I look forward to hearing from everyone, and I hope I can help others through my experiences.
