Still looking for anyone who's had an ablation- this seemed to me to be the beginning of the pain. Anyone else?? Does that mean somehow the blood is trapped? They said my uterus was so scarred that no blood could get out of it, hence, the pain. Where does the blood go?? How can it get out of the uterus? THANKS!!!

Hello, Melody. I have never had an ablation. I can only guess on an answer. I'm sorry I can't help you with your question. I'm sure that one of the other ladies may be more knowledgeable. I would say that the blood attaches to adhesions and scar tissue and some gets absorbed into the body tissue. Our bodies are so complex and can do amazing things. It has its own way of releasing things. I'm sorry I'm not too much help on this, but will be something to check into. Good luck. Lynette

Well i have a theories!
First of all the skin does absorb allot. Any women with Endo have internal bleeding Right! The endo on your bowel will bleed every month thus make you bloat since it has no where to go.
Same thing in your uterus, your body adsorbs it, The pain probably come from the bloating since women don't have that much sensation in the uterus but the organs that are crushes do!
Well this is my theories, I put what i learned together.
Hope this makes sense to you and other women?

Hi Melody,
I'm a newbie here but tomorrow morning I'm having my first laproscopy done and my doctor is doing a uterine ablasion also. I have almost 2 cm build up on the inside of my uterus. He did say that doing the ablasion would probably not help with the pain but it would keep me from having a period or very light one (I was having heavy irregular periods too). I'll let you know if it helps!

What exactly is ablation? I had nerve ablation done, which was supposed to have helped with the pain...still had the pain but couldn't feel the top of my left thigh for a year?

Uterine ablation is basically lasering off the lining of the uterus. It usually means not period or babies for at least 5 years. I've never had one and that is all I know about it.

Hi Melody! Jenny here again. I had my ablation in March and I had my period just last week. I had a lot of build up of tissue inside my uterus. My period was lighter and the blood was red which was different for me. For so long it's been this dark, clotty, tissue mess Sorry to be so graphic but....Anyway, it didn't help with the pain though. The doctor also did a lap at the time and removed some endo from my bladder but I don't think he got everything because I'm still in pain! (with nausea, contsipation, low grade fever, etc.) I do hear though from others that my periods will get lighter and lighter as the months progress. It's nice not to have the heavy bleeding.

OOOOk, I can start here! I have had 2 ablations. Unfortunately, they did not help me a lot and actually caused more problems. The first time she did it with water..that's called a hydrothermal ablation I believe. Scar tissue ended up growing over my cervix, so when my light period came....it had no way to come out and I ended up spending 4 days in the hospital. The second time she did it with a rollerball....that helped short term....but the pain returned....this is the Dr. that refused to even consider the thought of me having endo though. They are not painful, recovery is pretty nice too. I believe they are not a bad option for people who have issues with excessive bleeding or things like that.....but if you have endo around or on your uterus...it HURTS more than it helps I think.
