Okay, this might be a stupid question, but is having a lap scar (bellybutton) going to make the final few months of pregnancy painful (when the bellybutton stretches)? My scar is pretty thick and red still (although I have an "innie" so the scar is pretty well hidden).
When do women start showing? About what week?

Can't answer the heart of your question but I know that if you regularly rub natural cocoa butter on your belly you'll be on a winner!

I've been wondering that, too, especially since mine did get botched, leaving my belly button destroyed! It basically looks like a misshapen anus now! The outsides look like they are all sewn inward, but there was nowhere to sew--it was just a hollow tube! I've been to two plastic surgeons to look at it! They were both baffled! Grrrrr! Oh....and the cut didn't even go THROUGH my belly button! The cut was made to the side of it!!!! Thankfully, not everyone's belly button pops out! My friend just gave birth, and her belly button looked the same the entire time! Most women do get these nasty popped out looking belly buttons. I think they make covers so that they don't show through like a nipple or something under your maternity shirts. I really hope that my belly button doesn't get stretched out and hurt. It is already So deformed!

Wow, I never even thought about my belly button scar. Even after a year it is still real red and thick scarred. If any one knows the answer to this I would really like to know. I would hate for it to bother me again. I will be seeing my OB this Wednesday so if no replies by then I will ask the Dr.

I asked my doctor, a general surgeon, and two plastic surgeons, and they said that even with my deformed belly button from the lap and the huge, thick semi-circular scar i have just to the left of my belly button, that I should be okay during pregnancy. LOL. If I weren't so embarrassed, I'd take a picture for you guys to see just HOW messed up a belly button can get from a lap.
I guess one bit of inspiration is to think of women who have C-sections back-to-back. They seem to be okay, and I'm sure their scars are way worse than ours.
