Hmm, I'm ALWAYS below 98 degrees - usually around 96.8 - 97.1. Could be the therm, but I suspect the thyroid in my case (my sister is higher). My naturopath has me on supplements for my thyroid - said it's not functioning properly - but said my thyroid also improved once I got off Mirena. Perhaps I'll just have to be patient and wait for my body to settle down a bit. Ugh. I hate waiting.
As for remembering to take my temp - it's easy! I'm blind as a bat and HAVE to grab my glasses every day before I even step foot out of bed, so it's easy to put the therm. right next to it and grab it on accident. Ha!
Oh, and I'm back on track with the IR diet. When I first start it up a few months ago, my period came on within a few days and it was nothing! Perhaps wanting to see ovulation on my chart is motivation to really stick to it 100%!!

Hmm, so two days in a row with an elevated temp!!! But I DO still feel like I'm getting my period soon. Perhaps you were right about last month, Ouchy - maybe I just had a super short luteal phase? Ugh, if I get it this weekend it'll suck! I was thinking - wouldn't this whole ovulation-indication thing be a whole lot easier if we all had one of those buttons on our tummy that pops out when we ovulate - you know, kind of along the lines of the 'turkey's done' button thingy?? I'd really love that right about now!

Woo hoo for day 15! I'll have to mention that complex to my sister and see if she's interested... How'd you hear about that one??
If I DID in fact ovulate, it was day 21 or 22 for me, I think... We'll see how my evil body reacts to everything this month...

So I heard from my sister - she finally got a new thermometer and took her temp with both at the same time. There was a 1.2 degree difference in the two!!! She ditched the 8 second one for the newer (and longer to take) one. I'm taking a guess that she'll start to see things a bit more clearly in her charts... On a funny note, she was excited that I was able to see my thermal shift, and said she was bummed that she hadn't seen hers yet. Hmm, could that be thermal-shift-envy? (We've always been a bit competitive, can you tell? FINALLY, I beat her in something!!) Ha!

Ok, so it turns out my sister and I have very similar cycles! She bought a new thermometer and was finally able to see her shift this month. We both ovulated around the same day (oh, and we live a good thousand miles or so apart) and we both have short luteal phases. Mine was 9 days last month, and this month, we're both at 8 days.
I could care less about mine right now because there's nooo way I'm getting preggers. She and her hubby have been trying for a year now, though, with no luck, and she just started to track her cycles after I strong-armed her into reading TCOYF. For all you fertility gurus out there, if there were 1 or 2 things I could suggest she try to lengthen her luteal phase, what would you suggest?
She said she was going to make an appointment with her doc to touch base about it, but I want to be able to give her a few options that have worked for others to chew over before she goes in there. She's a lot like me - researches things to death - but I think I have more of a head start on where to look than she does. I know there's info scattered all over the place. Anyone know of any links that'll be useful?
Thanks!

I used B6 to help with my LP. I can't remember how much I used (100mg maybe?), but it extended it from 10 to 14 days. With all the other issues I've had going on, I stopped taking it a few months ago, though. I may start again once I figure out how things are going to regulate after my lap.

Hi Everyone! Thought I'd revive this thread as well because I'm new to temping and have a ton of questions! I started on March 7th 1st day of my period and just signed up for fertility friend to chart my temps. I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm totally grossed out to check my own cervix so I'll be skipping that step and just replying on the mucus I see on the toilet paper or will check with a mirror. How do I post my chart for you guys to review if I don't have facebook or a medium like that? I can't figure out how to just copy the link to the chart.

Hmm, looks like someone went back and deleted their posts... I swear, I wasn't just talking to myself through all of that!
Welcome to the temping club!! We've had a few new people start temping recently, good time to revive it! And for those of you that aren't TTC, keep in mind that temping can be used to AVOID pregnancy, too!

I LOVE temping! I have done it for two cycles now. It's so scary accurate! I don't have to wonder when my period comes and no more stressful weeks of pregnancy scares. It's just great. I love it.

I know!! The cool part is that I bring my charts in to my doc and we can clearly tell when we're messing with the wrong hormone, and she's commented that it's an easy well to tell that things still aren't right. And for the few weeks that I was the synthetic thyroid med, I could see a tiny shift in my temps. Such an easy, easy way to learn what your body is trying to tell you! Glad you're on board with it, J!

This thread is so funny with the conversation to yourself. What a bummer that all of that information was deleted.

Here's a link to a whooooooooooole bunch of people's temping charts, and it's organized by a gazillion different criteria, such as endometriosis, trying to conceive, trying not to conceive, pregnant, just off BC, on progesterone, etc. Super cool if you want to compare your chart to others! tcoyf.com/media/g/thyroid/default.aspx
