I had breakthrough bleeding on all 10 pills I was on, plus the patch. It was cyclic, every two weeks, despite skipping the placebos.
The last pill I was on, Lo/Ovral, gave me horrible scalp folliculitis, like a scalp acne. 7 years after having gone off this evil pill, I am still battling scalp acne! It's the most painful thing I've ever had to deal with!

I remember the depo shot making me feel like another person. It took me down hard. BC is awful for a lot of us the effects it can cause mental health are as bad as the physical issues. My twin sis is taking something for her period now and her first day she takes a pill to help with the bleeding each day one pill rest of the month off it. Omg she is 3 different people her hormones are out of wack. Yelling and crying one second and going to lunch and laughing the next second. I'm afraid for her but right now this is her only way to cope with her endo and bleeding she doesn't have time to take off work and leave her new baby to go in for a lap. I can't wait til she has sick leave time again. I want her endo treazted she has went to long ignoring it.

Help! I am on my second pack of the pill. I am going crazy. Not only am I nausiated and my sense of smell is waaay more sensitive than usual but I actually wanted to hit my fiance today! Hit him! He didn't even do anything, he was just talking and all I could think about was if he doesn't shut up I'm going to hit him. All day I have just felt this rage boiling up inside and I am NOT like this off BC. I will not be taking the pill again until I talk to my doc. I'm afraid of what I might do ... I am only on the 4th pill of the second pack. If I stop the pill tomorrow will it make me start my period even if I just took 4 pills?

I had to stop my birth control on day 5 and IT SUCKED. I did end up having another period. I had hot flashes that woke me up at night. I was psycho crazy for a couple of weeks. I would feel a lot better about you going off your BC if you at least consult your doctor soon. But I don't blame you for wanting to stop. They make me crazy too. Maybe it would be better to stop them at the end of the cycle? I think I had such a hard time because I stopped at the wrong time in the cycle. But again, I think you should talk to your doctor first. I hope you feel better soon!
And when I used to get feelings of wanting to hit things I would just go take a walk and get away from people. I know that feeling well and it sucks. I'm not a violent person either but I swear messing with my hormones turned me into a person I hated.

Depends on the pill you're on and how you've been taking it. I know that rage, and I empathise and sympathise a lot, it's horrible and leaves you feeling so guilty, but you have to realise it's not your fault. Please go see your doc asap.

I am on Sprintec. I am not religious about taking it at the same time everyday but I take it when I remember. Pregnancy is not an issue with us (because my fiance is sterile) so I don't take making sure I took it too seriously I suppose. Also, it wasn't just the episode where I wanted to hit him. I also have been feeling paranoid that he is secretly planning to leave me, which is odd because we are both very much in love and happy! I have cried at least 10 times today and if I'm not crying I'm extremely angry. I really think I'm going to end up breaking something!

By the way I also have noticed an increase in my physical symptoms since starting on the pill. Anyone else? I experienced even MORE cramping during my period if that were even possible and also a bit of sciatic nerve pain. However, I guess it could just be a coincidence. And I will be calling my doc's office tomorrow to see about coming off the pill.

Some people have a wide variety of symptoms. It might be the pill, who knows? I'm sorry you're having a hard time. You're in the right place. We know how you feel. I was wondering, maybe the reason you're having such a hard time with it is because you're not taking it regularly. That might be what's messing you up so badly. If you talk to your doctor, I think it might be worth it to mention that to him/her to see what they say.

Actually Jenaya that makes sense. When I was on my first packet I was taking it every night before I went to sleep and other than a bit of nausia, it was fine. Do you think it has an affect on the time of day you take it too? Well I will give it another shot. I will wait and take it tonight before bed and see how I feel tomorrow. Thank you:)

Night time might be a good idea so the any peaks happen when you're asleep? I was on the pill when I started having these mood swing episodes and I was crap at taking it regularly. I think it got better when I started taking it before bed. Definitely discuss with your doc.

Yeah I like that idea! Take it at bedtime then hopefully when you wake up hopefully the peaks in hormones will have leveled out. I think skipping days might be the source of your cramping too. It can get quite confusing for your body. I hope taking it at night helps. If not, there is the option of quitting them.

I took it at bedtime every night at the same time and I still wanted to choke people everyday Not meaning to make light of the situation, I can just totally relate to you. I was just on it again for 6 months and had almost uncontrollable rage for no reason whatsoever. EVERYTHING got under my skin. It was ridiculous. I've been off of it now for about 6 weeks and am a totally different person again.

I have an alarm on my phone set for every night so I remember to take my BC especially since I am taking it continuously. Hope you feel better. I know BC can make some of us feel awful.

God, I don't miss BCP! ladies be careful with this. If you are going to take them, at least do yourbody a favor and take them regularly at the same time, imagine your poor body has to deal with this at least let it be regular and timely. I would always have more issues when I would forget or take it late. do like Paint and set a alarm, at least be regular with them, or else GET OFF THEM with your doctor's assistance. Karen can't we use bioidenticals for the same thing as BCP? Ladies I can't say this enough. BCP for almost 20 years has really screwed me up. Being off them has let me come out of a 20 year depression. The downside is my endo. But really, really really be careful with these hormones. They are not the innocent, girly-packaged 'helper' your doctor would like you to think. Just be aware, the BCP you take now and on and on is affecting your body in ways it will take years to sort out! Yes there are pros and cons and pain relief is why most of us would take them or to see if they will help. But if they don't help you please consider seeing a naturopath and sort out your hormones another, safer way.

To answer your question Pretty - yes bio identical progesterone can be used to help with endo pain instead of bc BUT they don't prevent pregnancy. And lots of traditional docs don't know enough about them and how to properly dose per each individual so they just ignore them...
